Have been contemplating trying this and putting it off for more than a year. I’m finally here to try it.

Happy to note that the batter was crispy and has the flavor of squid ink.
Regrettably, I found that the fish fillet was one that tastes and feels like those frozen slimy pasty nonsense fillet that doesn’t taste and feel like fish. Another affirmation that SG doesn’t have good fish and chips.
The kimchi slaw is not bad but has no flavors relevant to kimchi.

My advice - skip this and stick to the fries.

Service is not bad, but on the cold and aloof end of the scale.

You can say this is SPRMRKT's final smoothie bowl. That's because on this first trip to try it, they told me it's the last day they're serving it. What's more, I arrived hours after the timing for smoothie bowls. I tried my luck and they kindly whipped this up for me. Sadly, I wish the ending was as good as the plot. I chose the one with Greek yogurt and I kinda hate yogurt. The sourness masked the honey and overnight oats. The rest were banana, blueberries, roasted pili nuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and chia seeds.

This originally dinner-exclusive menu is SPRMRKT's new vegetable-forward creations. And this adds to their existing menu of café-style favourites, available for orders through their newly launched online ordering site E-SPRMRKT at website: e.sprmrkt.com.sg.

Pictured are:
* Crab - with burnt corn, pomegranate, sriracha mayo, sea salt
* Hamachi ($32) - Grilled Hamachi collar, capers, burnt butter, anchovy
* Mackerel - with tamarind, coconut sugar, buttered kale, tomato salsa
* Heirloom Baby Carrots ($26) - with mustard seeds, charred leeks, pressed tofu, halloumi cheese
* Ginger Calamansi (spiked) - with calamansi, ginger, mint, sugar, soda, gin
* Pomegranate Lemon (spiked) - pomegranate, lemon, sugar, soda, vodka

The fishes and seafood were fresh and tasty, but the heirloom carrots became the highlight of the meal. Will share in detail about that and some main courses in my next post.

Now you can get food and beverages from SPRMRKT via the order link below and deliveries will be made across all of their three outlets. I had the opportunity to experience a few of the signature and new dishes from SPRMRKT’s all-day cafe menu for brunch this week, delivered directly to my home, and it is as good as dining in at the actual restaurant.

Pictured is the spread of food that includes a serving of Brussel Sprouts ($15), an excellent starter of charred Brussel sprouts with burnt corn and pomegranate in a sriracha mayo and Aburi Salmon Grain Bowl ($24) on a bed of organic Cambodian brown rice with tomatoes, avocado, poach egg over a ginger shoyu dressing. The ginger shoyu dressing is a smart way to give it an umami soya sauce flavour while ridding off any fishiness from the salmon. Additionally, the delivery also comes with the SPRMRKT Breakfast Platter ($28) and Tiramisu ($12). The former is the classic big breakfast served in most cafes and this version comes with a choice of two eggs, mixed mushrooms, two pork sausages with one being a chorizo, bacon, confit tomato, fresh greens and toast. The latter is the perfect ending to a meal with a tiramisu that’s made using a vanilla sponge that is soaked in cold brew coffee with mascarpone and cream. To wash it all done, finish with a bottle of cold brew which has been sweetened with honey.

During this period, if you wish to place a takeaway order, you can simply WhatsApp or call the respective SPRMRKT outlets in Dempsey Hill and Cluny Court before heading down to collect. For islandwide delivery, there is a delivery charge of $10. With just a few days left till 1 June, if you contact the outlets directly and place an order for takeaway or delivery, you get to enjoy a 15% off all ala carte items.

Located on the 2nd floor of Cluny Court, the cafe itself was quite an open space concept. Savoury sides such as sausage, bacon stripes and tomatos that comes along with 3 pancakes with an fried egg on top. I would say the buttermilk pancake was really good because it’s fluffy and nice flavour of the butter and dairy.

Asked for the hollandaise sauce to be separate on the side and it comes with quinoa pancake instead of usual muffins or artisan bread slice. Poached egg was quite runny and it pairs well with the quinoa pancake too!
