Mooncake season is upon us and Starbucks has launched a handful of mini mooncakes that can be purchased individually or in a box. Out of the flavours available, the Honey Earl Grey seemed the most innovative and unique. It’s quite pricey at $5 for a small mooncake, but it’s 1) Starbucks and 2) mooncake festival, so 🤷‍♀️

Upon cutting into the mooncake, we found it was really sticky inside. I suggest taking the mooncake out of the plastic base to cut so you can get clean slices. Now this mooncake is really fragrant. The Earl Grey aroma hits you early and is so enticing, we almost forgot to take a bite. It’s the middle portion of the mooncake that’s really concentrated with Earl Grey, and it goes so well with the rest of the sweet lotus paste. Overall, this mooncake was delicious, and I think it’d make a good gift for friends and family, but probably not something I’d buy for myself at this price point.

Left: Coconut White Mocha Macchiato (Iced)
Right: Caramel Macchiato (Iced)
Fret not, tommorow’s the last day of Starbucks 1-for-1 between 3-7PM!! 😋😋 #starbuckssg #nofilter

Quite a new addition to the Starbucks menu are the cold foam drinks. Chilled foam is layered on top of the cold brew macchiato style and the cups are served with a sipping lid so you get to sip both the foam and cold brew beneath. You’re sure to get a ‘stache so own that foamstache. This is quite a delightful perk-me-up in the afternoon which doesn’t leave you bloated, and frankly quite a lot more desirable than the sugar-laden Frappuccino’s and fancy drinks. :)

Love how refreshing this drink is. It’s great for when you need a midday coffee, and perfect for this week that feels warmer than usual. The sweet cream lends just the right amount of sweetness to the cold brew so it’s good for irregular coffee drinkers like myself who can’t down Americanos. The scent of vanilla is light but super pleasant and inviting. Must finish fast though - once the ice melts it becomes really dilute, so drink up!

Ordered this to go.

As usual, Starbucks pies are quite good and this quiche is no exception. The crust is just the right thickness and is solid enough that it doesn’t fall apart with the slightest touch, but also not hard enough to pose difficulty when cutting with a disposable knife.

The egg mixture is tasty, with a good amount of spinach and sautĂŠed mushrooms mixed inside. Overall I really enjoyed this quiche and am likely to order it again for tea or a light meal! :)

Another 1-for-1 buy today to try the new Triple Citrus Cold Brew. I think the drink is really pretty because of the layers of separation between the citrus syrup and cold brew. Unfortunately you do have to use a straw or stirrer to mix the drink or else you’ll just get cold brew on top and citrus drink at the bottom.

Now I don’t usually drink cold brews or order cold drinks at Starbucks, so my first impression of this was like drinking lemonade with a bitter coffee taste. I didn’t know what to feel about the drink at first. After mixing it more thoroughly, the drink tasted more like a very strong ice lemon tea. It was refreshing and especially great for a hot day. Would probably order this or the cascara macchiato again if I drop by Starbucks before this bout of new drinks ends! :)
