I’d recommend the food > drinks but so far out of the 3 nonya food places I’ve dined in this was the best!
unfortunately did not have any food pictures. we had babi pongtay, ayam buah keluak, sotong sambal and egg popiah. The food was so so and the portion was really small for 4 people which does not seem to add up the price.
The food at this Peranakan spot here is generally very good, but nothing stands out like the assam fish here. Think meaty golden pomfret stewed till delicious and soft, with tangy assam sourness and the slightest hint of lemak creaminess to kick up your taste buds.
Craving for authentic Peranakan food? Look no further than this eatery filled with heritage in Esplanade! Opened by the founders of Guan Hoe Soon, the oldest Nonya restaurant in Singapore, expect classics such as Ayam Buah Keluak ($18.80), Nonya Chap Chye ($12.80), Udang Assam Goreng ($20.80), Babi Pong Tay ($12.80) and more! Don't miss out on their signature Nonya Otah Otah ($8) and Nyonya Ngoh Hiang ($8.80).
