The truffle tagliatelle ($17.90++) was easily our favourite dish. The thick pasta was cooked al dente with a great bite. Most interesting is the sauce, which comprises mushroom fricassee thickened with heavy cream! It felt like a really gao mushroom soup with quality ingredients. Loved the truffle aroma and parmesan shavings.

The Strange Breakfast ($18.5++) features toasted brioche with bacon & sausage, mesclun & grilled tomatoes on a vine, garlic baby potatoes & spiced baked beans. We opted for our eggs to be scrambled. Definitely everything you’d expect in a breakfast platter! Appreciated the variety of items included and that quality ingredients were used, but found the portion too small. All in all - I’m not quite sure what the hype around Strangers’ Reunion is about. They offer a twist on the usual brunch food but the execution is lacking, especially given the high price point.

This baked eggs dish ($14.90++) doesn’t quite hit the mark. Would expect a rendition of shakshouka to be thick and rich, but this came across more as pasta sauce - the tomato sauce didn’t hold well and it lacked the oomph from spices. They were, however, generous with the sweet peppers and tomatoes! Ciabatta also seemed more baguette :-(

Pork & Broccoli ($21.90++) features sous vide pork collar, slow roasted broccoli stem, burnt onion jus and broccoli puree. Our first thoughts on receiving this item was that it was distinctly unlike most cafe food, and that the portion was really small.. the meat was tender and juicy but it’s flavour came mainly from the sauces, which were reminiscent of pear chutney. The crisp broccoli was an interesting addition!

Not really worth it and toppings are pretty sad. They provided a small string of Chia seed pudding at the side of the banana which was kinda weird. You either give a dollop or none

The great combination that won't go wrong. The latest menu got a lot of choices on their buttermilk waffles: with Greek yogurt (sounds healthy), milo crumble & caramelised bananas (sounds a bit sinful), homemade mixed Berry compote. Will come back for their tea menu!
