Situated in the ERC Institute at 30 Prinsep Street is Substance Cafe, a takeaway counter by the good folks of The Hangar that serves simple sandwiches and coffee for the students around the area. Nothing very gastronomic about this unlike the items that is served at the main outlet, but I do love how hearty it is with the play of contrast in temperature; hot sausage patty and bacon with cold egg mayo salad. They do have a breakfast deal going on where you can get a cuppa alongside this muffin for just $8.90; don't say I didn't let you know!
The coffee at the newly-opened Substance Cafe (located just inside the entrance of ERC Institute) is indeed sexy. But that's to be expected when it's the owner of The Hangar behind it. Great place for a cuppa if you're in the area.
