Miso sauce was sooo good - I need more! 😫 Just want to slather it on my fish and rice. Rice and miso soup as usual were fantastic. The bones were not so ideal for an impatient eater like me though. The ambience is better at the Jewel outlet.

Still prefer their fried chicken with black vinegar.

The Japanese scrambled eggs are so fluffy soft and light, infusing the starchy white rice with eggy sweet flavour.
.
The tender chunks of chicken are seasoned with light soy sauce and mirin rice wine, resulting in a savoury salty sweet flavour.
.
Finished with dashi (bonito & seaweed) stock. However, the delicious flavours don't sufficiently reach throughout the bowl, resulting in a decently tasty dish that shows potential for more.
.
Accompanied by a bowl of rich miso soup, and sharp sour pickles for contrast on the palate.

This Japanese rolled egg omelette is so fluffy and soft, with a juicy bite to texture.
.
Delicate eggy sweet savoury flavour. Accompanied by sweet grated daikon radish which helps cleanse the palate.
.
Best eaten warm, in-house when freshly made.

Choose to have it chilled or warm - I got it warm as it was a cold night.
.
With a smooth, refined taste, this dry sake is made with 100% Hitogokochi rice grown in Nagano prefecture, Chubu region, Japan.
.
Polished till 59%, this sake has a gentle grainy aroma of rice, and a medium smooth body. Notes of grainy sweet savoury flavour, with a clean finish.

Love the rice and miso soup here, truly the best. Each grain of rice is massive! Also, the beef at lunch time is $2 more than the dinner price but during lunch, the mains comes with a rice and miso set making it very value for money. Lunchtime on weekends seems pretty packed, and I still like coming here for dinner because the service at night is more attentive!

The six course set includes a grilled fish, two pieces of fried chicken Japanese style, mentaiko, and various Japanese style vegetables (pumpkin, courgette, leafy green veg) with miso paste, and also a spicy mentaiko.

Price-wise, for the beef with rice and miso, another rice and miso, the six course lunch set with two desserts, the total comes up to just a little over $100, really good price for the quantity of food :)

At SGD 25 this may seem steep but they do it so well here. This place is perpetually packed with Japanese so be prepared to wait if you didn’t make a reservation.
