Sun ray cafe is a pet friendly cafe which serves decent fare at affordable pricing. The coffee’s decent.

Lamb Shank ($14)
.
Hands down my favourite cafe when I am bring doggie for a day out. Most of the food I’ve tried have been good and the best part is how friendly they are on the wallet! This lamb shank is a hearty portion and I couldn’t resist adding the crispy wedges (+$2). An addon side serving of truffle fries is only $3! The lamb shank was fall off the bone tender and didn’t have that strong gamey aftertaste. Special mention to their serving of teas ($3-$5 depending on selection). They brew the tea for customers and separate the tea leaves from the tea and they’re happy to do it again with the leaves from the first brew. Most other places will just help with topping up of hot water so the tea usually gets over-steeped but not here!

Came with prawns, soft shell crab and a fish fillet. The seafood was reasonably fresh but the sauce was quite tasty with a spicy kick to it (wish i had mantou to dip). There’s a raw egg mixed into the sauce to make it thicker but it was still abit watery for me and didn’t adhere well enough to the pasta. But overall a decent pasta for the price and portion $14 with no GST/service charge and is one of the most expensive things on the menu already.

Do try their coffee/teas/bread when you’re here though and they have a pet-friendly section if you’re into that kinda thing
