Taking over the former premises of Pontian Wanton Noodles at Northpoint City is Suparakki Ramen, a new establishment that serves up affordable Tonkotsu broth ramen at less than $10.00 ala-carte.

Coming with condiments such as Onsen Egg, Chashu, Black Fungus, Seaweed, Spring Onions and thin Hakata noodles as standard, the broth comes all creamy and hearty without being too heavy, lightly savoury; pretty heartwarming at the price point. The Chashu is a mix of lean and fatty meat, whilst the Onsen Egg came with a somewhat molten yolk and the noodles carrying a bit of bite. Considering how this came at just $6.90, this is most certainly a steal for its price, for how some less-established ramen places may charge higher without achieving the consistency here; pretty much good value-for-money. Service isn't the most friendly though, and the space does feel a tad claustrophobic with lack of space between groups of diners between tables and narrow aisles β€” more for an eat-and-go space rather than one for lengthy catchups; but a great option to dine at if one doesn't mind the other factors except for the quality of foos served here.

Heard it's there for at least 2-3 weeks already. Finally tried it today ☺️ Had the original tonkotsu ramen ($7.90 NETT) and was quite impressed. It's quite a decent bowl of ramen, especially for the price. Mai hiam ish buey pai (direct translate as:- don't be fussy it's not bad) πŸ˜‚ The soup is rich and I think there's no MSG? because I couldn't taste the after taste of MSG. Noodles seems like with a mixture of buckwheat (not so sure), towards hakata style I would say. Wouldn't mind having it again the next time when I'm lazy in Yishun craving for ramen.

Original Tonkotsu Ramen (S$7.90)
Available at a new outlet in @northpointsg which was currently in soft opening period, and just took over the space formerly occupied by Pontian Wanton Noodles.
The broth was quite rich and creamy.
The noodle was quite thin which reminds one of Wanton mee.
Cha Shu was quite thin.
The seaweed was more on the salty side, lacking of crispiness.
But a surprise waited one at the bottom - A piece of unidentified black object which felt like glass.

(Everything is BELOW $10!!) Tried their dry truffle ramen and was caught by surprise by the springy texture of the ramen and the tender stir fried shredded pork 🐷. When mixed, it was slightly salty for me but was still a satisfying meal overall! Would definitely come back to try their other ramen dishes! 🀀

P.S if you pop by @westgatesg outlet on weekdays between 2-5 p.m., you get either a drink OR. a plate of three gyozas πŸ₯Ÿ for every bowl of ramen ordered! Very worth it, I must say!
