Awesome experience at this eating place. We opted Omakase style and Chef decides what we eat and this sushi buffet is really value-for-money. TOP 3 faves were aburi swordfish, white tuna, mentai ebi. Weekend lunch at $41.90++

Rating: 4/5. Free flow sushi buffet, make-to-order. Comprises appetizers, sashimi, aburi, nigiri, Maki and handroll. Items include salmon belly, mentai, scallop, tobiko, bonito, aji, white tuna etc. special items for the weekend buffet include anago and ikura, at $10 more. #burpple #foodinsing #foodinsingapore #instafood #sushi #sushibuffet #buffet

Returned for the buffet. When you have such a friendly Chef and a quaint small run-down place, I tend to return for the good vibes. Previously I mention that the ratio of rice and meat was unbalanced, returning because of a friend's craving and somehow his proportion is so much better. Smaller and bit-size, the Chef allow you to have more stomach space to try everything on the menu. Particularly, I love this pitan tofu. Small, smooth and obliviously good. The century egg is mild, which make this dish a good starter or in betweens.

Growing up, I could never find the gut to stomach this preserved indulgence. But now, I can't seem to get enough of this belly satisfying delight. More so when it is served exactly this way – the yolk is blended until smooth with a touch of miso and quite possibly mirin while the whites benefitted greatly from its texture. Jelly-like and translucent, they add such an allure to the plating...they look like pieces of crystals! Tobiko is always a joy to eat especially when they pop with crunch at each bite. Saving the best for last, that square of tofu is out-of-this-world, cray-cray good. So creamy, so luscious...I want to eat it every day. Ok, that's all.

The earthiness of these white seeds and the savoury burst of the soy sauce lightly coating the fish really bring out the fish's fresh sweetness. This piece of sushi here is truly one great study in balance. Ok, that's all.

Its distinctive aroma, or should I say stench, is truly something you need to be well acquainted with to actually enjoy it. However, these two pieces are so well-marinated that they're rid off any trace of the stench and in its place is a delicate aroma of superior soy sauce. I believe bonito flakes were used as well. Ok, that's all.
