Ordered the small sized pork and prawn porridge [$5] and four treasures (flower crab, prawn, clam and yellow eel) porridge [$10]. Added century egg [$1] and normal egg [$0.50].

Can’t really taste the seafood flavor in the porridge and hence was slightly disappointed. The pork and prawn porridge fared much better in terms of value and flavor as I didn’t feel the crab, clam or eel added any boost of flavor.

Would recommend for a hearty and filling meal as my partner and I had trouble finishing the entire portion. However, might not come back unless in the area.
Do note this is teochew style and hence rice grains and still rather intact; you won’t receive a thick, smooth congee consistency here.

Had this at a small Coffeeshop in Holland Drive. What I liked about this was that the broth not flavoured from MSG but from the natural sweetness of the seafood. Texture was great, as the plumpness of the rice grains were still retained, and this added a bite to the watery concoction. The claypot also ensured that the porridge was bubbling hot throughout your meal!

Price is a bit steep for lunch imo, as Holland drive market also offers porridge at cheaper prices. But a good lunch treat!

Both my friend and I thought the Prawn and Pork was nicer than the Yellow Eel because the porridge was a lot more flavorful with the prawn roe. + The eel taste was missing from the Yellow Eel porridge. Nonetheless they nailed the texture for both and porridge lovers should definitely try this! It’s like cantonese porridge style thick and yumz

Well this was a pretty damn good claypot porridge! Didn’t want to dive right into the most expensive $10 flower crab/ prawn/ yellow eel/ clam so I decided to try the more basic claypot porridge - Special Pork & Prawn($5/12/18) - very flavourful, I liked how the texture was just right - I can taste each individual grain without it being overly mushy or watery, and ingredients (minced pork and prawns) are fresh! It might have been a tad too salty towards the end for me but I easily finished the entire dish by myself. Generally a very enjoyable comforting dish to have - even if it’s sweltering hot today 😂

This porridge is perfect for any seafood lover! Most of the sweetness that the porridge carried was derived from the flower crab which was cooked beautifully.

The meatballs were really special as you could tell they were home-made; they were well marinated, and had the fragrance of sesame oil. The eel pieces had a slight fishiness to it though, and were firmer than one would expect/hope? The prawns were mostly alright, although they weren’t the freshest and were still slightly mushy at the ends. Nonetheless, add some Chili padi, and this would make for a warm, comforting bowl on a cold day😊
