Bubor Cha Cha is decent but the peanut paste is a little bit sweet. However, what drew our attention is the ambience that it provided. The neon lights and whimsical props makes the dining experience a picturesque memory. Not a bad experience overall.

That is a mousse with a lot of durian in it for a $6.50 dish, although we cant tell if it is legit D24 durian πŸ˜‚ Note that there is another version with musang king that costs close to $10, but we decided not to get that in the end as we were not sure if the upgrade was worth the difference in taste between both dishes.

Stall opens until very late at night (I.e., after midnight) so do visit this place after your supper fix in the Geylang area! Note that the queue becomes longer the later you visit the shop.

The best part about this cafe? It’s closes at 4am daily, enough time to satisfy your midnight cravings or after-supper treats.

A classic Chinese dessert at such a place is their Mango Sago ($4.80), something that will hardly go wrong, and a good sign when I can see the staff cutting up fresh mangoes at the back of counter. Another Chinese dessert that was recommended by @danielfooddiary is the Yam Paste with Pumpkin & Ginkgo ($5.80), which I prefer over the mango sago for its rich creamy texture and the sweetness from the pumpkin complemented the tartness from the yam paste.

Caught wind of the new Sweethut at Geylang Road β€” a new establishment which focuses on serving up Chinese desserts and light bites near Lorong 37 Geylang which had recently garnered quite a crowd being an establishment decked out in a fun dining environment (think lighted dice stools paired with rubric cube stools, fooseball table etc.) that opens till 4am; a great supper haunt in the neighbourhood that boasts of plenty of options for late night hangouts even in these post-Circuit Breaker times.

Found ourselves going for the Durian Sago which was a pretty safe option to have here β€” coming with sago pearls, shaved ice, durian flesh and coconut cream, the dessert was light and refreshing whilst carrying a variety of textures from the chewy sago pearls to the fibrous durian flesh. The durian flesh was pretty fresh; carrying a distinct sweetness and the pungent flavour of the king of fruits that was pretty much the main star of the entire dessert β€” a classic combination of elements that simply delivers.

While the food is pretty decent overall (skip the bland Bird Nest here though), there is much more left to be desired when it comes to the management of the entire establishment β€” messy queues with staff constantly trying to figure out if the patrons are ending up in the wrong queue and all; pretty haphazard and does not really work well for the patron’s dining experience overall. Perhaps somewhere I would probably consider returning to when the hype dies down.

A cool place to chill

Very nice cafe, great ambience for a romantik supper.
