Yay! Managed to grab the last one off the shelves from this old school bakery that specialised in pies and puffs.

Love 🫶🏻 this soul-warming pie with chock-full of minced beef, mushrooms, carrots, onions and peas fillings, topped with golden brown cheesy mashed potato. 🤩

As you can tell it's huge. More than feeds one. Crust was light and flaky, filling has more onions and potatoes than meat but overall, since it's solid and not a flour based gravy, it's pretty decent actually.

I hate pedestrian meat pies but this one was acceptable

Carrot cake @ $4.80

A tad expensive in my opinion especially when there's Balmoral Bakery just further down selling cakes at $1.60.

It's not bad, there's good amount of fillings of nuts and possibly pineapples and a little bit of carrot here and there. Just that the outer layer cream is too sweet for our liking. We ended up eating just the sponge part of the cake and tried our best to not touch the cream part.

Guess I'll go back to Balmoral for cakes but would try other pies and pastries from here!

Chicken pie @ $5.50

Quite a good pie, in terms of portion and amount of filling, and rather tasty too. The centre part that "pops up" is actually because of half an egg underneath. Would be better if it's consumed hot.

Chicken pie also sold in a whole (think should be four pieces). And they also sell apple pie and curry chicken puff and other pastry and cakes. Definitely will be back to try other pastry!

If only a video was allowed to be posted here - I could show you a video of how crumbly Amd gooey this was .

The apple filling is tart and not the sickeningly sweet kind .

The pastry is crusty , tender and light .

Probably the best apple pie ever .

Pies are freshly baked and warm. The crust is flaky and the filling is generous - just abit too salty for me. Love the hard boiled egg and potatoes inside. I tried it one weekend and went back the next weekend, addictive!

Curry puff was good too.

This is located the block next to balmoral and it was recommended it to me because this has a lot more filling and there's egg in this too! There is less pastry though, so it depends on personal preference. I would go back for this again 😋

There are a lot of liao inside! But the crust is definitely not one you eat with folk as it is quite soft and soggy.

I bought half a pie and asked them to slice for me. They sliced into 4 pcs. This chicken pie was really good. Very smooth potato with quite a good amt of chicken pcs. I was happy that they added egg. Pretty cheap for all the liao inside.

One huge curry puff was only $1.90!!!! I've only just discovered this a few months ago and I'm in agony at wasting so many years of my life not eating this. I've been bringing my fur-baby to sunset way for more than 10 years and I've never found this treasure!!! 😭

This curry puff is now my favorite curry puff. And I will buy a big box whenever I come. Really spicy and jam packed with liao inside. One is enough for my lunch. ❤️❤️❤️

I've tried their chicken pie once (quarter). Very good!

Still the one I love .. ...

I love a warm Apple pie anytime and no one does it better than Swiss link bakery.

This is the Apple pie that the older generations will approve of because they have preserved the " traditional taste " of pies , tarts and pastries.

Other than the location - I love everything about this Apple pie . I love that it is served warm , I loved that the apples are cooked well with that cinnamon goodness and I love that the shortcrust pastry is fresh and crusty.

I have tried the Apple pies from Han's, from island creamery and IKEA . None have been able to maintain this crustiness of the pie and no one does the ratio of the Apple filling and pie skin better than Swisslink.

I used to love IKEA's version because of the generous raisins and walnuts within the Apple pie but the pie skin lacked that crustiness .

Having said that , on one bake's a good ole Apple pie the way my mummy bakes. But for a quick fix and to save her from being so busy in the kitchen , I would gladly go to Swisslink .

This delicious chicken pie with a buttery, flaky crust filled with cubes of potatoes, carrots, chicken and portion of hard boiled egg is my absolute comfort food to boost my recovery from a pesky cough (that just won’t go away).
