The soup made from Fish bones, scales and fin and Also slight Chinese wine. The result was comforting with natural sweetness, non msg and very easy to drink it.
Served with fresh chunk fish, veggie, fried egg and tasty minced meat pork.
💰$7.8
Don’t forget to order the chicken wing, I tabao back 12 pcs 😆. It’s really good, old school chicken wing, very crispy outside while inside juicy 😋.

The giant garoupa can weigh up to 300kgs each. They are very rare and so when I learnt that SZ Kitchen was serving up fish soup made from giant garoupa fish meat, I had to try. At $12 a bowl, they are not exactly cheap but yet if you think about how rare this fish is, it’s a steal.

We got there at lunch time but only three servings left. Just right for three of us. Order two bowls with thick bee hoon and one to accompany with rice. The meat was not as good as I remembered. Maybe from keeping too long in a freezer? The soup also came with flat meat patties, which imparted the taste of salted veg. Soup was the white version and had a hint of Chinese wine.

Big surprise was the fried chicken wings. Super crispy with the meat still moist and juicy. Only regret is it wasn’t the prawn paste type. Goes well with the belachan chilli sauce.

I hear they also have moray eels and crocodile meat which like the giant garoupa, is not in the menu. I’ll be back.

If you're going to try this place, ball out and just choose a premium fish at the counter. They have different kinds of fish that you can select for your fish soup.

One that changed my life was the giant grouper belly, I never knew fish could taste and feel like that. You can also ask the friendly staff for recommendations!
