Best of both worlds. My all time favourite. Please do come and support.
Curry taste awesome with the pigskin and tao gua.
You tiao ccf also the best with the gravy all together.
Its very difficult to find such old school handmade food like this near our area, unlike those dimsum stall with the pre-made ccf doesn’t taste as good as handmade. The price is quite reasonable compared to the taste, i would say its worth it. Try it to believe it

It does seem like the trend for Hong Kong-style Chee Cheong Fun has died down drastically since its heydays — there seems to be lesser names serving up similar fare, while Chef Wei HK Cheung Fun had also diversified their menu to be serving up other dim sum dishes alongside their signature Cheung Fun offerings that have been on the menu ever since they had started out at Bedok. Making a rare trip to explore the various F&B options that Jurong West has to offer, we found 成记 港式猪肠粉in Tahoe Garden Eating House situated at Blk 493 Jurong West Street 41. Whilst we are not certain when did 成记 first started out operations, the offerings on its menu does seem pretty reminiscent of other Hong Kong-style Chee Cheong Fun specialty stores of that particularly era — menu items include the Two Taste Chee Cheong Fun that features You Tiao, Original Smoked Duck Chee Cheong Fun as well as a KL Curry Chee Cheong Fun; just to name a few.

Skimming through the menu to decide on which of the Chee Cheong Fun dishes we would be going for, we found comfort in going for the Prawn Chee Cheong Fun — a standard go-to item for us whenever we hit up an establishment serving up Hong Kong-style Chee Cheong Fun for the very first time. Just like other stalls serving up Hong Kong-style Chee Cheong Fun around, 成记 prepares each order fresh upon order — this also explains why there is a waiting time involved for the Chee Cheong Fun here. Collecting our order when our order number flashed up on the display, it does seem pretty evident that they do not seem to douse their Chee Cheong Fun with too much soy sauce here; a thing that seems to boil down as a matter of preference. Digging into the Prawn Chee Cheong Fun, one could see how delicate their Chee Cheong Fun is — the rice roll was sufficiently thin yet carried a gelatinous texture; all that whilst not feeling particularly sticky to the tooth. With just a bit of that soy sauce, the smooth and silken Chee Cheong Fun comes with just a light touch of saltish-ness; the bits of prawn being reasonably-sized and fresh, providing a light hint of natural sweetness inherent of prawns. The chili that accompanies it on the side lacks that smokiness / umami note that the chili from other stalls serving up Hong Kong-style Chee Cheong Fun gives; that being said, it still carries a savouriness and that kick of spiciness which would tickle the tastebuds of those whom are tolerable to moderate levels of heat.

Having tried only the Prawn Chee Cheong Fun, 成记 does seem to be one of those establishments which knows their craft pretty well — their Prawn Chee Cheong Fun comes pretty comparable to that of some that are served in Chinese dim sum restaurants; one of the better establishments which serve up Hong Kong-style Chee Cheong Fun amongst the ones that we had tried. That being said, its location within Jurong West also means that it is a little far flung as compared to other Hong Kong-style Chee Cheong Fun establishments that had set up shop in places that are viewed as more convenient to get to, or that is more centralised. That being said, 成记 does serve up quite a good plate of Hong Kong-style Chee Cheong Fun; we would probably prefer them to be a little more generous with the soy sauce for a bit more flavour, though we could see that it really did not require too much soy sauce or the rice-y notes of the rice slurry would have been overwhelmed. A trip to Jurong West might be a little too much effort for some, but we would think that 成记 is one of those gems hidden within the housing estates of Jurong West worth exploring if there are other things on the agenda.

A coffee shop with a hidden gem of a western food here. But while waiting 40+mins for my western food, felt hungry la.

So decided to try the carrot cake next stall.

It's not a bad plate of carrot cake, can eat as appetiser for your western food.
