Takezo Ramen (Clementi Mall)

You order via an iPad here, & I was shocked that my bowl of Aburi Cha Shu Ramen ($11.90++) was served within 2 minutes of ordering. It was crazy piping hot that I had to wait a while before tucking in so I didn't scald myself!

Noodles were good & chewy; soup base was ok; I would've liked more garlic flavour though. For all soup ramen that you order here, you can choose from the original, black garlic, spicy or super spicy soup bases.

I wouldn't order this particular ramen again, as the 2 cha shu slices are essentially half fats. & unfortunately, it is my habit to completely peel fats away, so that left very little meat behind.

So I relied on the other ingredients to eat with my noodles - sliced black fungus, & a hard-boiled egg. The latter, as you can see, has a overcooked yolk - so clearly the best part is the egg white.. Which was okay.

All this aside, they do have a Seafood Ramen ($12.90++) option that I'd be keen to try. Maybe with the original broth, just for variety's sake.

Ordered the Pork Shabu with red broth - as someone who isn’t good at taking spice, the spice level for this bowl of ramen was just nice for me so I was able to enjoy it! (I had wanted a soup base that was stronger in flavour yet not too spicy). Of course, for people who like their soup base spicy, you will find that this does not provide sufficient kick so you can go for the extra spicy broth instead! The pork slices and Hanjuku egg were nice enough and noodles was also firm to the bite. Overall, a decent bowl of ramen.

Takezo Ramen's one tasted was quite yummy! I like that you can choose 3 portion sizes for the soba and guess what, it's free upsize!

I had the Nankotsu Maze Soba ($11.90 ala carte, $15.90 with set) while my bf had the 5pc Cha Shu Maze Soba ($12.90 ala carte, $15.90 with set)! We chose Karrage chicken & Gyoza as our sides. Pretty interesting that they gave fried maze soba although I would say it's only okay.

I go there more for the portion than the taste to be honest.😆

Value for $ since it was just S$1++ more than the ala carte order.
Counted 5 pieces of wontons in the bowl
