Tamoya was established in the home of udon, Sanuki (now known as Kagawa) prefecture in 1996 by Sanuki udon champion, Tamotsu Kurokawa. Tamoya Singapore is first in Southeast Asia and also first overseas outlet! Brought all the way from Tamoya Japan, from Kagawa prefecture, Sanuki udon is hand-crafted from Tamoya's proprietary flour mixture (made from 3 different flour) and is served with "golden dashi" broth. We’ve had the chance to try their Black Garlic Udon and Tonjiru Udon. The black garlic came in a rich, fragrant garlic tonkotsu soup while the tonjiru comes in a house made red miso soup. We personally like ramen over udon but the udon at Tamoya was springy. Every bite gave you the chewy feel which felt pretty nice. πŸ’ͺ🏼🍜

Wanna know why?

Let's start with the base. It's @tamoyasg's very own house-made red miso soup that boasts an umami flavour which is oh so hearty! πŸ˜‹ .

Next, we have the tender beef slices which have a good ratio of fats to meat. As always, the udon here is a delight too with its silky yet chewy texture! So slurplicious! 🍲 .

And the happiest moment of my experience here? In terms of visual pleasure, it's watching the onsen tamago 🍳 getting poked by the chopsticks and oozing golden yolky goodness all over the bowl of udon 😍 And of course the ultimate pleasure would be to finally dig in and enjoy this oishii bowl. Itadakimasu!!! πŸ€— .
