Came on a late Saturday where the bestseller fish got sold out but the second option is pretty good too. For someone who eat fish frequently at home, their fish is really thick and fresh, just like the price tag.

Ordered their Mantou, lamb stick (still quite hard not very wow), dumpling in chilli oil, grilled eggplant and it was all good.

We opted for the limbo fish ($45.90) with green chillies and peppercorn which is the bestseller here. Despite looking fiery hot, it isn’t that spicy after all. I like to eat peppercorns as it gives that numbing effect and absolutely love this dish.

Moderately spiciness and numbness. Quite a good level of heat to suit most tastebuds. Picked the Limbo fish which as described, had smooth, fine and tender flesh. Added on low calorie sides like conjac jelly and seaweed to fill us up.

Not spicy despite that fiery red appearance, topped generously with chopped garlic and a dash of scallions. Soft and flavorful.

When we arrived at 6pm, they told us they already ran out of the Limbo fish (which we wanted to have)! Heard Chongqing was full of bones so we went for sea bass. The green pepper broth was not spicy, but definitely numbing thanks to the peppercorn. Not my favourite type of fish or flavour here.
Also the queue is crazy long, so be prepared to wait hours for a table.

Something to consider getting as a side besides the usual fish at Tan Yu. Flavour leans towards the sweeter side which I like, so I thoroughly enjoyed this!
