This features a large limbo fish / basa catfish, in a fragrant extra spicy gravy, garnished with dried red chili, fresh red chili, pickled green chili, Sichuan / Szechuan mala peppercorns, and spring onions.
.
With robust savoury salty spicy flavours, and a fiery kick that numbs and lingers, this dish is not for the faint-hearted.
.
You're served some complimentary dried fruits before the dish arrives, which you should consume in order to prevent hurting your empty stomach.

This features a large limbo fish / basa catfish, laid over sheets of beancurd skin and pickled mustard greens, in a fragrant mildly spicy gravy.
.
Surrounded with fried soy beans, tofu beancurd, and heaped with dried red chili and parsley. Not as spicy as it looks, this was delicious and filling.
.
The fish is large and meaty, with a tender moist firm flaky texture. Has beautiful delicate sweet savoury flavour, and the grilling in the gravy causes it to absorb all the savoury spice notes.
.
Their service is inconsistent, but with them offering takeaway now, at least a questionable experience shouldn't be an issue.

The fish was tender and firm. Sea Bass is our favourite and definitely complemented the sauce well. We ordered some cabbage which absorbed the sauce well.

It's pricey but for the quality, it's something I wouldn't mind paying for once in a while.

Very enjoyable meal. The chilli oil bringing forth the umami and spiciness from Broad bean sauce and dried chillis. There was little to no numbing flavour from the typical mala, good for those who don't like that part of mala

The fish was well seasoned and grilled prior, giving a nice smoky flavour. The oils of the fish were also nicely rendered and added to the fragrance that would not have been achieved by just cooking the fish in the broth.

The sides of Chinese long cabbage and potatoes did a great job absorbing all the flavours. Overall an excellent meal. Was so spicy but yet addictive giving a masochistic pleasure bite after bite

We opted for the limbo fish ($45.90) with green chillies and peppercorn which is the bestseller here. Despite looking fiery hot, it isn’t that spicy after all. I like to eat peppercorns as it gives that numbing effect and absolutely love this dish.
