Tanglin Halt is now much quieter than before, especially since the demolition of Tanglin Halt Food Centre and some of its surrounding blocks.Soon, block 49, which this popular Roti Prata shop is located, will be demolished too.
Prata here is great, it's not crispy type, more fluffy and buttery.
The curry here is good as well.
This prata shop feels very retro, something that's hard to find in sg.
This is the dough type, I wished it was more crisp. Only slightly crispy at the browned edges). Upside is that it quite light, not too greasy. The fish curry is kinda spicy for me, tangy and quite tasty, consistency is not too watery or thick.
Overall thought it was decent, but not queue worthy for me. There’s perpetually a small queue, but it isn’t too long. Has potential tho, maybe I shall try it again. Eating it plain (no curry) was actl not bad, the dough was slightly sweet and fragrant.
Chicken Curry was so good! The chicken was soft and tender likeit has been living in this curry all its life!

This prata is not too crispy but rather chewy, thought the texture was quite good in any case. Their default curry is the one with mutton but we got the fish curry and thought it tasted better. In any case, my (not so) guilty pleasure is still prata with sugar 😌
I had the chicken briyani. The chicken was soft, tender and flavourful. The rice was fragrant and fluffy as well. The accompanying achar was nice to cut through all the spices and gives a nice contrast. To eat here, you need to come early to beat the lunch crowd. At peak hours, expect to wait 20-30mins.
Available only in the morning as they start selling Nasi Briyani for lunch.
