been going to Tanuki since its early days as a small outlet at Orchard Central back in 2015, and my favourite ๐Ÿ—๐ŸŽ++ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ง๐œ๐ก) is still well-executed after all these years! The truffle aroma is relatively subtle compared to what I would prefer, but the beef is well-cooked, so iโ€™ll say its pretty good for the price. The portions are also reasonably generous.

Also love the onsen egg on the top, which definitely goes super well with their seasoned sushi rice! I am not usually a big fan of rice, but the rice at Tanuki is my weakness...... ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿผ

All in all, definitely a place Iโ€™ll always visit whenever I am around the Orchard area and canโ€™t think of anywhere to eat - this is perfect for a meal with a budget < $20 ๐Ÿคฉ

I usually order the Foie Gras Truffle Yakiniku ($21.90) whenever I visit @tanukiraw but during my last visit, I felt that the standard has dropped..

Not enough sauce on the foie gras and the beef was thinly sliced as well..

The only thing that I liked was the truffle oyster because of the signature truffle sauce. Wished that the oyster was bigger though at $6/pc but I guess oysters arenโ€™t cheap in SG ๐Ÿ˜…

Ordered a chirashi don 25++ (sorry for the blurry pic) which was one of the recommended items on the menu. Serving was slightly on the smaller side but the ingredients were fresh and flavorful! The rice was well-seasoned and complements the sashimi perfectly! We were sat down at the outdoor area which had a great ambience, lively and cooling. A perfect Thursday night out in our case :)

The truffle onsen egg was good that I could eat with the Japanese rice without the meat ๐Ÿ˜‚ but the meat was tender, pretty decent

Very value-for-money chirashi don. Had this a few times and each time the combination of sashimi is slightly different (as it depends on the season). Great fresh ingredients and conducive environment for conversations. Overall, a great dining experience.

Apologies that this isn't a very flattering photo of their Salmon Kaisen Don (~ $16.90). But taste wise, loved it!

This Don falls under their "Rice So Nice" section. And I gotta say, I loved their Tanuki Raw's Signature Mixed Rice, it was fantastic! So uniquely flavoured. I like that they put so much thought and effort into the rice so that it went beyond just the consumption of white rice/sushi rice.

Loved the huge portions of Salmon, and the variety that these Salmon slices were cooked (Salmon Sashimi, Aburi Salmon Belly, Cubed Spicy Salmon, Mentaiko Seared Salmon Sashimi) topped with Ikura๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿคฉ.

Also, was glad to be seated outside! It gets really pretty during dinner time, great ambience ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿปโœจ.
