Really a value-for-money lunch set for salmon kaisen even on weekends. Salmon kaisen cost $12.90 and we TOP up $2 for lunch set, which comes in miso soup and green tea.

Great tasting food and lovely ambiance in this branch of Tanuki Raw. Servers are also very polite & efficient. Just a little sad that the foie gras portion of this meal seems to have gone smaller & smaller as compared to 2 years ago.

wanted to order the same fries as the couple at the next table but we ordered the wrong thing. but this was SO GOOD. a unique combination of both marshmallows and mozzarella cheese that melts to form a slightly sweet creamy cheese blend that coats the fries

very unique combination of tempura crisps and salmon. i love tempura crisps but i feel like the taste overpowers the salmon so i ate them separately towards the end. the roll comes with 8 pieces.

the middle has a large piece of tempura crisp. in comparison the sushi bar has a piece of salmon & cucumber in the middle! i think i prefer a stronger taste of salmon so the latter is more suited to my taste buds ☺️

Everything is good! Generous portion.

$18 (without fresh truffle, exclusive tax)

The egg is so flowy, I like! The beef, though tender and well-seared, lacks the melt-in-your-mouth feel. The truffle sauce saves the day.
In frame: Truffle Yakiniku Don [$14.90 for lunch]

Although this place more for dine-in or cocktails, the coffee served here is surprisingly good. It has body and intense in flavour.

Located at 4th floor of Orchard Central, the atmosphere is cozy. Perfect setting for catch up with friends & weekend dating. Definitely one of the most hip spot for youngsters at Somerset.

Great location for food in town. It's a bit pricey, $20+ for each bowl, but they fill the bowl with all the fish you ever wanted. Good selection of drinks too!

Veh good Chirashi Don ($20++)! Comes with their signature rice too!

Still one of the most reliable places for an affordable yakiniku don with decent beef, truffled onsen egg, and impeccably seasoned rice – and those slabs of seared foie gras are definitely worth the $5 upgrade.

Very addictive. These salmon chicharrones are fried with nori crisps and spiced with curry, with beer cheese dips provided on the side. I love the curry seasoning, perfect when crispy!

Perfectly seared beef slices with such whole egg. The hint of truffle in the sauce just sealed the deal for me. How could I only have just gone to this place now??
The foie gras is passable but IMO not completely necessary. Wasn’t blown away by it but couldn’t find much fault with it either.

Tanuki Raw is no stranger to many. With thousands of pictures of their Truffle Yakiniku Donburi flying all over the internet for the past few years, this place had better be good.

To save your wallet, go during the lunch time to enjoy their donburi at a lower price. Contrary to popular choice, I got the Salmon Kaisendon lunch set ($12.90 + $2) which came with salmon done four ways - fresh, torched, torched with mentaiko, and tossed in spicy sauce - miso soup, salad, and green tea. I loved that the salmon was fresh and generous, and the miso soup was uniquely tasty. Their signature mixed rice laced with black sesame seeds and crispy bits was also very fragrant, but it was difficult to stomach after a few mouths as the rice was really dry. I would definitely appreciate if they could drizzle some sauce over the rice (perhaps a shoyu-based sauce for those with sashimi, or even an onsen egg would be good).

Definitely a popular place for the office workers dropping by for filling lunch and socialising after work hours over their bar snacks and drinks.

Pretty well done with a good portion of crunch on top. Could have been slightly more generous with the mentaiko sauce but overall it's def worth a try!

Salmon Don with Set, $14.90++, it's worth! Salmon fans should try this!
