One of life’s greatest gastronomic indulgences can be found at Tarte by Cheryl Koh, a spin-off by the Les Amis Group with Les Amis restaurant’s pastry chef Cheryl Koh, which opened in April 2015. In a span of a year, chef Cheryl was awarded ‘Asia’s Best Pastry Chef’ in the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants awards in 2016. Emerging from a tiny den along the quaint corner street of the Shaw Centre, this retail concept is as straightforward as its moniker – selling artisanal tarts and other confectionaries baked from scratch all day with only the best available ingredients sourced from around the world that are rare to find in Singapore. Talking about her inspiration behind Tarte, she says, “I want guests to enjoy the tarts as I would serve them at Les Amis restaurant: freshly made with good ingredients and best fruits of the season. I aim to make the best version of the simplest desserts. I focus mainly on tarts because of the great combination of pastry, flavours, colours and textures.” In 2018, Tarte by Cheryl Koh expanded its operations to include a cosy dining area. This allows the team to push the envelope when it comes to crafting guest’s dining experience. With an expanded menu list, coffee and tea is no longer an afterthought. Instead, it plays a vital supporting role in elevating the experience and taste profiles of the desserts.

Incredible Tarts to tide this CB.

Lemon meringue was tangy and sweet. All in 1 bite.
Dark chocolate was rich and decedent.
Mix berries was a surprising delight.
Pandan coconut was like nostalgia of old times.

The tarts were price $8-$12 per piece. They provide delivery( at extra charge) too!

The sweet-as-a-Premium-Korean-Strawberry @chefolivia of @brandfitsg surprised me with a token of appreciation yesterday evening 🥰. And what a stunner it was. Trust Les Amis Group’s Executive Pastry Chef Cheryl of “Tarte By Cheryl Koh” to showcase the Jukhyang strawberry from Korea which is also known as “The Royalty of Strawberries” in a most befitting style - that of a tart which resembles a crown. The large, boldly-scented fruit’s fresh sweetness and light acidity was complemented deliciously by vanilla custard and a delicately thin, crisp pastry crust.

The good news is due to Brandfit’s support in supplying these highly-prized Jukhyang strawberries to “Tarte By Cheryl Koh”, this special large tart can now be purchased at the chic bakery in Shaw Centre. The bad news is it’s only available for this weekend (meaning today and tomorrow). So I suggest calling ahead to reserve one if you want to be sure not to miss out.

perfection in a bite was probs the best way to describe it. the tart was crumbly with a cookie-like texture & the panna cotta base was unbelievably smooth and soft even after a night. the oranges were a delight; super fresh & the light sugar glaze offset the tartness of the oranges. we def went up to dessert heaven (if there’s one) after every mouthful.

Tahiti vanilla mousse with Lemon curd and topped with marihime strawberry.
It’s bigger than usual tart, perfect for sharing, it’s not sweet and quite refreshing.

Simple & elegant, MACADAMIA may look unassuming but it promises so much more! ✔ From the thin pastry crust that boast of buttery fragrance 🌟, generous amount of toasted macadamia nuts of a nice crunch, sweet caramel sauce, to the rich & smooth 41% milk chocolate ganache 🍫, everything fit it perfectly tlfor the explosion of flavours & texture in every bite! 😋
What an indulgence indeed! 💕 At $10, this is not your everyday dessert but is certainly befitting of that once-in-a-while pamper! 😉

Caramel mousse, cashew chantilly cream, feuilletine.

The feuilletine is at the bottom, followed by a layer of chantilly cream, caramel mousse (taste like milk chocolate mousse to me though) and caramel in the middle of the dome. I love the feuilletine layer as it provides a nice crunch and contrast to all the soft elements.

Their “nuts tarts” are always well done and this is no exception. This is my second time buying this tart and I like it as much as the first time.
