High tea with a different style.. selection was not much. But good enough to be full. The only only “insta” part was the hand crafted desserts which you don’t find them in other high tea buffets..

Do try it 😉

One of my favourite afternoon tea buffets to date (not that I have tried all that many), Regent Singapore Tea Lounge’s Weekend High Tea Buffet is a fairly indulgent affair at $55++ (U.P. $65++). Unlike their Weekday Three-Tier Afternoon Tea which features small sophisticated bites, the buffet offers quite a selection of hearty Western and Eastern delights with a touch of local flair. And though the spread seems deceptively small, the variety is pretty amazing.

Filling up my table like a ‘Kiasu’ Singaporean, my most-loved part of their recent line up was certainly their live Carving station where you can look forward to Miso-marinated Wild Salmon and Sake-infused Wagyu Beef Tataki. The butter scones and waffles were also fool-proof. However, if given the task to pick only one item to go for, dive straight for their congee and kick back on their luxuriously plush seats immersing in the contemporary colonial garden décor as you finish one bowl after another. A must-try, the stock of the Seafood Congee with Goji Berries held all the natural sweetness from the ingredients but the plump king prawns with fresh fish slices really took things up a notch. Slurps!

The guys from Basilico and Dolcetto by Basilico sure know and love their chocolate - from their Chocolate and Coffee Pistachio Tart and Chocolate Rum Financier to their Chestnut and Valrhona Dark Chocolate Cake and Passion Chocolate Mousse, it’s a riotous Willy Wonka extravaganza.

While everyone was still going for savories, I’ve moved on to one of the best scones in Singapore @regentsingapore Tea Lounge. Love that crust and the airy insides. Of course I gave it a good slather of clotted cream and a touch of lemon curd before savoring it. 😋😋😋 Can someone bring me these for breakfast?

I've been wanting to visit tea lounge at @regentsingapore for the LONGEST time and I'm finally glad I did.

Not only was the company great, the king prawn scallop congee served at the weekend high tea buffet ($61) was the bomb diggity.

Entirely homemade, the porridge had an incredible seafood flavor, and reined in nicely with the addition of Goji berries. Each serving comes with an entire meaty king prawn and several pieces of fresh scallops. So good that I had multiple bowls. 🤤

Having the sweets prepared à la minute, the delectable Golden Apple was ultimately the highlight for me. Delightfully crafted as a glossy green apple, breaking into the thin sugar shell will reveal a balanced combination of refreshing Iced Yuzu Apple Compote, airy Yoghurt Espuma, pillowy Olive Oil Sponge, light Vanilla Fromage Blanc Sorbet and Hazelnut Molasses Crumble. Loving the bright sugar bauble, it provided something crisp and crunchy to the softer elements as it played up the textural experience of the whole piece.

Pinkies up and cancel your weekday afternoon plans, cause Regent Singapore’s Tea Lounge is currently having a promo - $10 off their Weekday Three-Tier Afternoon Tea Set (U.P. $48/ per adult) when you book via chope with a special code 'AFTEA10' till 30th November! Pamper yourself with two drinks of your choice (tea or coffee), chef’s signature butter and mixed fruit scones served with Devonshire clotted cream, house-made strawberry preserve and traditional lemon curd as well as an assortment of savoury finger sandwiches and seasonal quiches. However, if given the choice I would skip right to the specialty plated desserts.

And of the other three interactive desserts offered, my dad (yes, I dragged my dad to high tea with me) had the foolproof Chocolate Forest - depicting a woodland scene with Caramel Cream, Banana Chocolate Gelato, Pecan Brownie, Chocolate Choux Puff, Banana Coulis and Chocolate Crumble. Yum~

The recipe has changed a little and it features a denser texture overall but the center is still a little soft and moist. I slather mine with tons of clotted cream and some of their lemon curd. You can get these in their Weekday Afternoon tea set or just on their own (go with the latter).

The revamped Tea Lounge at the Regent Hotel Singapore is even more inviting than ever. In the comfortable plants-filled space, you can savour an enhanced menu that features new sandwiches, the most delicious smoked ham and gruyere quiche and a selection of exquisite plated desserts. To sip, choose from an impressive range of tea with stories to tell, or different permutations of coffee (pourover included), using a new blend from Common Man Coffee Roasters.

Available as one of the four plated desserts in the Weekday Afternoon Tea menu at Regent Hotel's revamped Tea Lounge, its gorgeousness is enough to turn other apples green with envy.
Head Pastry Chef Alex has not forgotten the importance of being beautiful inside as well. So he has it filled with a heart of iced yuzu apple compote, yoghurt espuma, hazelnut molasses crumble, olive oil sponge and vanilla fromage blanc sorbet.
Prior to the dessert finale, you'll be served three tiers of goodies which includes two kinds of freshly-baked scones, scrumptious ham and gruyere quiches, and an assortment of sandwiches. You also get to enjoy two drinks of your choice. The selection of teas is impressive but the coffee (using an exclusive blend from @commonmancoffee) rivals it. I had a pot of Flowering Earl Grey followed by a Pourover Coffee and both were excellent.

Had afternoon tea at Tea Lounge. At a glance the buffet area looks small but the spread was good! They've a corner for live station.

Need to highlight this King Prawn Porridge. The prawn taste is so rich that i need to go for a second serving! The prawn was succulent and fresh. Live station includes roasted wagyu beef, laksa, chili crab sauce with deep fried mantou and etc.

Dessert selection was overwhelming! Cakes, tarts, kuehs, sorbet, macaroons and etc... The lemon meringue was lovely. It doesn't comes with the usual tart case but its was a biscuit like crust.

It was nice to see the Chef going table to table to serve individually portioned hokkien noodles served on opeh leaf. That is an authentic way to serve it. It was a little too wasteful to give a lime, half of it will be more than enough for the portion size. Overall it was nice.

Ambience was relaxing, had the pianist playing his pieces. Service was prompt, my pot of tea never ran out of tea. Clearing of used plates was fast. Staffs were friendly too.

Will be back when i craves for a bit of everything to indulge in.

Here's a spot to bring mum on your next girly weekend together. Relax in the Tea Lounge's library-like ambience (check out the bookshelves packed with literary tomes) and indulge in a languid afternoon chatting over tea and truly delicious high tea fare. The Weekend High Tea Buffet ($61) offers not only afternoon tea classics like scones, finger sandwiches and dainty desserts, but also a stunning selection of savouries including Asian dishes like chili crab with mantou, chicken rice, satay and king prawn congee with dry scallop and goji berry — perfect for mamas with Asian palates! Finish off on a sweet note with an Earl Grey creme brûlée and their delightful scones. The tea selection is pretty extensive too, so clear out your entire afternoon for this buffet.
