We had wanted to go to Ray Jaan Fai after Thip Samai. Unfortunately for us, it was awarded 1 Michelin star just a few days before we arrived in Bangkok. RWe were told that it was closed although it wasn’t really that late at night. I later learnt from @linda.wibowo that she had the same experience. She returned the next day before it opened and the wait was 3 hours in all! The lady boss fries each plate individually. No wonder they stopped taking in customers way before the official closing time.

This post is actually about a stall we chanced upon after being rejected by Ray Jaan Fai. It was full of locals so it must be good?

What is yentafo? It is a popular pink noodle soup but perhaps not quite as high profile as boat noodles. The pink colour comes from fermented soybean paste. It was surprisingly good. The rice noodles were especially smooth and the assorted toppings made the dish very tasty indeed.
