The creamy mentai carbonara broth base was not too bad, a bit more towards the salty side. It expectedly got a little bit overwhelming towards the end, but it was still quite interesting to have udon in mentai carbonara sauce.

Worth a try if you like carbonara, or if you like mentai, or if you’re simply looking to try some interesting fusion cuisine!

A quick and easy meal - the dashi broth was warm and comforting, the udon was chewy and bouncy. There was a decent amount of beef as well. It’s quite an affordable udon dish, great if you are looking for some reasonably priced decent Japanese food, and want something quick.

As seaweed is quite monotonous, you're really eating for the tempura, which in this case was too tough and not the ideal taste profile. Idaten's crab cake is the best - creamy, authentic and fried perfectly.

Disappointing. This would only work if the minced meat was good. Unfortunately it was meh. And the garlic and chilli combined to taste like instant noodle seasoning, which was insulting.

Onsen egg and mentai spread over rice is just heavenly. Unfortunately, the "katsu" was low grade. It's similar to the frozen type sold by hawkers.

Choice of udon is Togarashi (Japanese Pepper) this time. Loved that they infused that into the udon. Every bite is chewy with that spicy kick. Shiok! Loved the dashi and soy sauce mixture that completes this udon bowl. This comes with chopped green onion and a half boiled egg.
