Was craving for some sashimi, and the Kaisendon ($16) in Teppei Syokudo did satisfy my crave abit. Though the sashimi cubes weren't super fresh, but the portion of sashimi was quite substantial. I really appreciated the wasabi as well, as it didn't taste like the usual one that comes from a tube. However, I was quite disappointed by the chicken karaage addition, as it was tough 😢

Dropped by this outlet for lunch. Had the Spicy Sesame Kaisen Don ($16.80) with Hokkaido Scallop Cream Croquette set and an Onsen Egg ($2).

The sashimi given was of a generous portion and very fresh. The spicy sesame sauce felt a tad too spicy for me but it complements the sashimi really well. Onsen egg was perfect. Overall, a very enjoyable meal that felt surprisingly light on the palate.

The croquette was crispy and not greasy at all. Scallop cream filling was very smooth and tasty. I could probably eat many more without feeling oversatiated. Highly recommend it.

I ordered the Kaisendon. I was pleasantly surprised with the generous portion of sashimi(: Also, they had a reasonably good variety of different bowls to offer. Ambience was fastfood-place like as opposed to typical jap themed restaurants. It was decent and worth a try at its price point.

Was a bit worried that the mentaiko cream with salmon tempura udon ($15) would be too overpowering, but it was just right and I managed to finish it all up 😋 The salmon slices used were THICK and the batter wasn’t oily at all!

Hokkaido potato croquette was quite affordable at $2.80 for its size!

Overall, the location is so accessible and it’s a great place to get quality Japanese food (plus no svc charge.)

Went for a quiet dinner with my friend on a Monday evening. It's been a while since I've gotten Teppei (used to do the DIY at the ION branch), so it was nice to know their sashimi is still fresh and tasty! Had the July Special and the yellowfish was super yummy! idk what sauce they glazed it with but it really enhanced the flavour of the fish. Added the tonjiru soup which was tasty and a nice way to finish the meal.

price wise, it feels pretty average for a nice bowl of kaisenson in sg, so no gripes there.

Caught up with a friend over dinner at Teppei! The July Special, Buru Tataki Kaisen Don from Ishikawa Prefecture was delicious.
What truly stood out was the seared slices, giving the fish a unique texture on top of its freshness. At $18.80, it was well worth the price.
Additionally, I had a side of the scallop cream croquette, which was very creamy. The tonjiru soup was pleasing as it wasn't too salty. I'd definitely return in the future!
