Pad Kra Pao Rice (Stir-fried minced pork, basil, chili padi served with steamed rice and fried egg) RM20.15
Thai Milk Tea RM6.90

A good satisfying meal for two especially when your body demand for some carbs. Thai Hou Sek's food is really Hou Sek (delicious) and lived up to its name.

Their Pad Thai is served with seafood and pork bacon (RM 22), which I found that the combination does really works! Pad Kra Pao (Thai Basil Pork Rice) is a real satisfying food served with bulls eye style fried egg and crispy crackers (RM18). You may want to try their Som Tam (papaya salad) too as they serve Som Tam with generous slices of savoury luncheon meat (RM18)! ;)

To beat the heat from the dried chili powder, we tried their signature drinks such as Thai Hou Yum (RM10) which is a jasmine tea + asam boi and Master's Recipe (RM10) which is apple juice + asam boi. Both drinks are served without straw as they lined the glass with salt to enhance the refreshing mouthfeel from the drink.

Lastly, we ended our meal by having a plate of their popular, delicious Mango Sticky Rice (RM15)!

Do expect a queue and you may want to write down your order in their order chit while you're in the queue :)

Located in One Utama shopping centre, the cleverly named Thai Hou Sek (it means 'too delicious' in Cantonese) is the new winning destination for all things Thai and tasty. Head to the stylish restaurant that exudes Bangkok vibes to dine in a group, be it lunch with colleagues or dinner with your family. Begin with the authentic appetiser of Miang Kham (RM15), a spicy betel leaf wrap that erupts with the aromatic crunch of pork lard. With a plate of steamed rice for everyone, share the Green Curry (RM22), which offers thick, fragrant gravy embellished with pork shoulder and pumpkin. Dishes here are potent with a Chinese-style porky twist, including the Tom Yum with Roasted Pork (RM22). After the spice-laden meal, make room for the irresistible Mango Sticky Rice (RM15)!

Seriously my family's new favourite Thai restaurant in PJ/KL. #nofilterneeded Let's begin with the first dish, the seafood tom yam. The tom yam wasn't too piquant, but was delightfully clear and delicious without the cloying sourness. The seafood was plenty for two people and I loved the addition of mussels to the mix. I do wish they added more prawns and mussels so the serving is more appropriate for 3-4 people. Next is the Jasmine rice which is fragrant and perfectly fluffy and I loved the addition of fried onions as a garnish. After that was the papaya salad with luncheon meat which was delightfully tasty with the sweet, sour and savoury tastes mingling well with each other. There were cherry tomatoes and peanuts added to it which added a welcome crunch to the dish. The Thai Hou Sek platter which consisted of Thai fishcakes, a betel leaf dish and Pandan chicken was amazing. The betel leaf dish made me skeptical at first but it was a tasty experience with the complex flavours exploding in my mouth. The pandan chicken was large, tender and juicy and the fishcakes were wonderfully plump and spiced well. The last dish was the green curry with pork and pumpkin which left us impressed. There was a generous amount of pork in the dish and the pumpkin enhanced the creamy sweetness of the curry. All in all, a phenomenal experience. I will be coming here again, needless to say. 10/10 would definitely recommend. #thaihousekoneutama #oneutama #burpple #thaifood #foodporn #foodgasm #foodstagram #instafood #pjeats #eatdrinkkl #tomyam #greencurry #pandanchicken #somtam #papayasalad #pork #porkilicious #porklover #nofilter
