We ended off the dinner with their highly recommended mango sticky rice, which we truly enjoyed! The Thai mango served was extremely sweet and fragrant, while the portion of sticky rice was just right, nicely packed in a block of a balanced texture. Dip into the coconut milk for an extra aromatic taste without being overly milky!

Take your pick from Spice Levels 0-10 - we picked Level 1 to be safe as my friend doesn’t take too spicy. If you want to challenge yourself, feel free to pick the higher levels! I’ve read that the highest level induces lots of numbness! Now moving on to the review of our safe Level 1 which we tried…

The soup was super thick and flavourful, actually didn’t really taste much like Tom Yam at all, maybe because we picked a low spice level? The peanuts taste in the soup was strong, making the soup quite sweet. Even though it didn’t taste like tomyam, it was still yummy. The egg noodles were quite standard.

We visited on a weekday evening and there was no queue for takeaways. I think it’s very worth it with the Burpple 1-for-1 deal - you get to pick an appetizer, a main, and a drink. Do note that this deal is only applicable Sun-Thurs and there’re extra charges for the takeaway boxes (30c each).

Did someone just mention about a fried thai omelette? Another signature Thai dish that Thais would probably pride themselves on! Ah, that crispiness through layers and layers of egg you could imagine deep-fried using a substantial amount of oil at high heat. So so fluffy like cloud. There’s an option of minced pork or prawns or even plain. The minced pork was hidden in between layers that I felt like I could barely taste it at times. Would recommend enjoying this with a bowl of rice or it might turn out to be a little jelak, although the condiments by the side would probably do a little magic.

Although the reviews I read about Thai-licious before coming were raving about their Tom Yam Egg noodles that made me really tempted to try, I decided to have a taste test on their award-winning dish - Thai Boat Noodles. If you have a small appetite, perhaps consider going for the small portion at $1.90 and try other dishes on the menu because there are indeed a few worth trying.

I am not a fan of Thai boat noodles because of its sweetness and a metallic taste in the broth I usually find. Traditionally, boat noodles had salted cow’s or pig’s blood added to the soup to make it thicker. But because this is banned in Singapore, Thai-licious fulfils this by boiling the bones over hours to extract a concentrated flavour for the broth. On a rainy day, it surely keeps your heart and tummy warm especially with the addition of Thai herbs and spices such as Galangal, Ginger, Lemongrass, Cinnamon, Coriander and Kaffir Lime Leaves. For me personally, it was the kaffir lime and coriander leaves that made the broth addictive, as the citrusy refreshing note cuts through the sweetness to in the robust flavour of the soup.

While the rice noodles felt like they were slightly over cooked, the slightly gamey pork balls were bouncy, but the sliced pork were rather tender. The portion was huge and I couldn’t finish the entire bowl as we still had other dishes, but it was no less worthwhile.

Thanks to Burpple Beyond, the deal was really attractive that we over-ordered!

A crowded Friday night but lucky us, we were seated immediately upon arrival even though the restaurant was almost packed. This classic Thai street food made a good appetizer to the start of our dinner. Though the pork skewers were neither heavily marinated nor seasoned, the juicy tenderness coupled with the grill smokiness and a coating of caramelised sweet soy sauce, resulted in a something like bak kwa-on-skewers. Wouldn’t exactly call it weird but I was definitely expecting it to be more savoury! Dip in the garlic chilli fish sauce for even stronger flavours.

Thanks to the 20% off total bill with Burpple Beyond, we enjoyed our Ala Carte dinner at a discounted price while having the flexibility to choose our dishes!

Authentic Thai, food portion is generous. Good if burpple can include a deal with just main and drinks, we were struggling to finish the side dish. Server is patient in taking order. Recommend coming here!
