very nice cafe, cosy and quiet. I like that their music is very soft, so everyone don't have to talk loudly over it. yuzu latte was nice, and hojicha latte a tad too sweet. my pound cake was hilariously tiny at 3.90 but delicious so no complain there, just had a good laugh over it.

To me, a good cup of coffee must be balanced.

Starting from Temperature - it must be just right for the tongue. Not too hot till it scalds, and no one enjoys a cold, hot coffee. This one? Perfect.
Beans - not overly bitter, acidic or sweet. A good cup of coffee should be smooth on the tongue and this one does just right!

If you need a good cuppa coffee to start your day, trust me this one will do it!

I think it’s pretty rare to find a cafe open this early especially during difficult times of COVID, but they were open when I arrived at 8+am!!

Used the burpple deal to get 2 cuppas hot coffee (cappuccino & latte) for $5 in total, I think it’s p worth w the app!

(do not ask for a carrier if you want to save on plastic, they don’t use paper bags)

Stay safe y’all

Besides selling coffee and beer, this hidden gem of a place also sells amazing hojicha lattes and dirty chais’.

You’d also find that they serve small bites like baked pastries and fried finger food (truffle fries, buffalo wings, etc).

I’m so glad they’re still open during the circuit breaker period. This place used to be my weekly go-to for client meetings or remote work, as I’m an absolute sucker for their coffee. It’s also a nice environment to get some work done, or to catch up with friends.

P.S. The staff there are a witty, pleasant bunch as well. ;-)

What I liked best, though, was the Cafe Latte ($5.00 nett). It was creamy & smooth. Started my day off on a good note. I'd head back here again just for this when I next drop my sister off at work!

Or maybe I'll try the $5.90 breakfast sets: Butter Croissant, Chocolate Danish, Jalapeño Cheese Brezel... Which one sounds good?

Breakfast Set = 1 Baked Good + Coffee/Tea. There are 2 different price points: $6.90 or $5.90 per set. I bought the more expensive one, choosing both options for baked goods to cover all ground:
- Turkey Ham & Cheese Croissant
- Smoked Salmon Quiche

Both of these are $5.90 on their own, so this set is really worth it. & when you swipe Burpple Beyond's 1-for-1 deal, you save even more!

My croissant was deflated by the time I reached home, probably from being heated up before being packed away 😢 It looked sad, but was surprisingly delicious! Sufficient saltiness from the turkey ham, harmonized with the slight creaminess of the emmental cheese. The croissant wasn't crispy anymore, but if you saw this as a light & flaky piece of bread, I guess that's ok 😂

I thought I'd like the quiche more, but I wasn't a fan of the mushyness of the salmon. I'd prefer larger flakes of chunky fish.. But that's my preference. Taste wise, it was okay. It is pretty dense, with a good crumbly crust.

Which one would I order again? The croissant, actually. Even though the quiche is substantially more filling. I just liked the flavours a lot better.
