𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓 ππ€ππŽπ…π…π„π„ ($πŸπŸ‘) scratches the ice cream-on-cake🍨🍰 itches while keeping it light. Consisting mainly of banana cake, caramel biscuit gelato and banana jam🍌, I thoroughly enjoyed the sweet-bitter blend when paired with a double shot of espresso β˜•οΈβ˜•οΈ

π‹π€πŒπˆππ†π“πŽππ’ πƒπŽπ–π 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑 ($πŸπŸ‘) is def for the coconut shake fans out there!πŸ₯₯ The combination of toasted coconut gelato topped with chocolate coated🍫 butter cake and fragrant toasted coconut flakes made this cup a refreshing delight.

Conceived in 2017 by two friends with a mission to broaden the public’s perception on how coffee can be enjoyed, the duo launched @theaffogatobar at Cluny Court with their own repertoire of decadent affogato desserts and innovative coffee brew, making it the first of its kind in Asia.

Affogato is an Italian dessert consisting of vanilla ice cream topped with a shot of espresso coffee. @theaffogatobar reinvented the usual affogato to an all new level.

Here’s what we tried:

🌟𝐍𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐒𝐨π₯𝐚 𝐈𝐭𝐚π₯𝐒𝐚 β€” 16.00
Originated in Piedmont, Italy, Panna Cotta is one of the best known and frequently requested desserts. @theaffogatobar version of the Italians' favourite consists of a crunchy hazelnut praline gelato (made from slow roasted Italian hazelnuts) topped on a soft, silky hazelnut panna cotta and served with a double shot of espresso on the side.

Consumed by Japanese in all forms, Matcha has always been a popular choice. With its distinct flavour, it makes it fun and easy to incorporate into desserts. At @theaffogatobar , they have paired matcha, Azuki beans (another favourite of the Japanese people) and vanilla into an intricate dessert. The bitterness of the matcha, sweetness of the Azuki beans and richness of the madagascan vanilla gelato creates a complex yet delicious flavour.

The Kirsche Schokolade, sour cherries in dark chocolate, delivers exactly as its name suggests. The sourness of the cherry compote paired nicely with the sweetness of the chocolate mousse gelato and chocolate cake, giving it a nice balance. Coupled with the bitterness and slight acidity of the double shot Empire, this is a good midday perk-me-up. I told my wife that we can go on that walk around Botanic Gardens after this!

The CrΓ¨me BrΓ»lΓ©e surprised me as I am not usually a fan of the burnt cream dessert, that I find is usually super sweet. However, this one, with its dark espresso gelato and caramelised vanilla custard, was perfectly balanced out by the aromatic and bitter double shot of paramount. A really nice fusion of sweet and bitter. Although a pet peeve would be that it melted my ice cream way too quickly for me to enjoy it πŸ˜‚

I would find myself back here if I'm looking for a midday sweet treat or as a motivation on the midway point of the coast-to-coast trail!
