[MEDIA] The Fleur De Caramel [$15++] is a fun affogato dessert that features salted caramel ice cream with dark cacao, salted caramel, and 55% chocolate. Sweet meets bitter in this rich creation, with the krispies adding some crunch to an otherwise one dimensional creation.

It’s a different interpretation of Kaya Toast at The Affogato Lounge, because for S$4.50, I got for myself three half-slices of toasted sandwich bread. Accompanying this all-day brunch item was a scoop of unsalted butter and a piped Kaya cream, so one could spread the two smooth and creamy stars on the toast as desired.

Upon putting everything together, I thought that there were some missing elements in this version of the Kaya Toast. Firstly, the butter was somewhat tasteless because of its salt-free nature. While the Kaya had prominent notes of coconut cream, I thought that it was a little too smooth unlike the familiar Kaya I would usually associate with, also with a lack of burst of Pandan leaves and sugar flavours. Putting the toast aside, if there were a little more contrast on the flavours and textures of the spreads, I might derive more satisfaction from this easy breakfast. On the other hand, if a smooth butter-cream texture was what you would look for, this might actually work well for you.

I love this !!!!!!!! The sticky date pudding is good too. Such cosy and lovely ambience to chill after dinner.

For the nuts lover, head over here for dessert. A double shot of empire combined with their hazelnut ice cream is the perfect end to a good meal.

Breakfast time @TheAffogatoLounge, where they serve a selection of paninis, bowls and baked quiches other than affogato.

Head back there the second time and can’t resist getting the mouthwatering Blue Swimmer Crab Quiche ($13). However, for a belly-filling option, Spicy Italian Panini ($15), toasted ciabatta sandwiching salami, red peppers and fontina cheese, is an excellent choice. Grab a cup of Bittersweet Symphony or Dark Mocha to go along tooooooo.

And yes this is by the same folks behind @TheAffogatoBar at Cluny Court.

Kickstart your day with their speciality drink, Bittersweet Symphony ($6/hot), a combination of dark cocoa, vanilla chai and espresso or simply have the Dark Mocha ($5.50/hot) if you’re not a fan of Chai. The team import ethnically sourced coffee beans from Ozone Coffee Roaster, New Zealand.

For those who wish to have a more filling meal other than affogato, they do have a selection of paninis, bowls and baked quiches. Recommended dishes include Italian Couscous Tuna Bowl ($15) and Blue Swimmer Crab Quiche ($13). The latter looks unassuming but taste delicious with generous crab meat filling.
