The Assembly Ground

610 Wishlisted
~$25/pax
We love clothes. And we love food and coffee. For us, a nice fitted shirt is just as important as a comforting, filling and reassuringly tasty Panini – accompanied by a good cuppa. So we decided to marry both, thus incorporating The Assembly Ground along side our retail arm. The Assembly Ground provides our customers and visitors a space to meet and exchange culture, ideas and experiences; offering a respite from shopping or just a casual place to hang out. Inspired by our roots in Melbourne and its cycling culture, a raw and warm atmosphere defines our casual café. With coffee blends from the best local coffee roasters, we serve up a mean cup of espresso and classic comfort fare from all day breakfast to weekend brunches. Truffle scent was strong, but a pity that the egg wasn’t that runny. Still a good pick!

- service was terrible & coffee was decent
- 1 for 1 from entertainer app!! made it very affordable
- pizza & burger at a very affordable price! pizza was slightly oily but very tasty!
- good escape from SMU :’)

overall: 7/10

Salmon was well done, skin was crispy. The Pasta was also a little spicy, which gave a good kick!

Chicken was fresh and succulent, shoestring fries were a tat too salty, burger bread was nicely toasted and slightly buttered. Nice comfy food for a Friday night dinner.

Ordered the rosti Benedict and truffle pizza. Taste wise is good for both dishes and portion is filling. Always have a soft spot for potato-ish stuff and I love this rosti, which is crispy but not oily.

We ordered the Hae Bee Hiam Pasta, Truffle Carbonara, Rotisserie Chicken and Pullled Pork burger. You should skip the chicken as it was tough and pretty normal tasting. Pulled pork burger was not bad. The star dishes are definitely the pastas! Personally I like the Hae Bee Hiam pasta as it has a nice spicy savoury kick which fits well with aglio alio. Truffle carbonara was well done too with just right truffle flavour and creaminess so we wouldn't get sick of it after a few mouthfuls. I do think this is quite a nice place to go with a group of girlfriends to sit and chat. Oh but the coffee wasn't that great so just stick to regular iced water
