This month sees The Bee in Publika handing their kitchen reins to The World Is Flat, the Singaporean team behind a reputable repertoire of restaurants across the straits. Easy eats like sandwiches, pizzas and pastas helm this menu to suit the crowd who often come for the venue's live music gigs. On regular days, the value-for-money lunch sets are what to come for. Go for the Pizza Lunch Set (RM25) that comes with your choice of personal-sized pizza, Spam fries (yes!) and a drink. The meat-free Garden State is a surprising winner, melding roasted beetroot with a rich but not cloying four-cheese combo on savoury charcoal crust. If you're not for getting your hands dirty at lunch, stick with the pastas. The Pasta Lunch Set (RM30) includes the option for a delicious Truffle Duck Confit, which sees a whole duck leg confit on charcoal pasta tossed with white truffled mushrooms. Mop up any leftover truffle sauce with the side of garlic bread. Those who love okonomiyaki, skip the sets for an a la carte order of Fat Samurai (from RM42), their unique, umami-packed deep dish rendition.

One of the dishes I most enjoyed, doled out by the experts behind The World Is Flat in SG who now also runs the kitchen at The Bee, Publika. The white truffled mushrooms gave the (sometimes al-dente, sometimes too tough) charcoal pasta all the flavour it needed. Meanwhile, the duck leg confit offered saltish duck meat, pulled into the pasta for a tasty combo. Love that they serve it with garlic bread so none of that truffle sauce goes to waste.


The new kitchen take over by the world is flat from Singapore is definitely bringing in new dining experience for the bee.

The fat samurai pizza is the same item as their menu in Singapore. A okonomiyaki inspired deep dish pizza with pulled duck confit, streaky sliced beef, prawn, burnt onion, smashed beef, konbu mayo, balsamic okonomiyaki sauce and cheese. Totally love this pizza dish, I think it would be great to share and pair with some beer.


Slow cooked whole leg duck confit on top of fresh charcoal pasta, tossed with white truffle mushroom.


Crispy fried soft shell crab over freshly made charcoal and egg pasta, tossed in salted duck egg cream sauce.

Not all restaurant serve deep fried soft shell crab that not greasy, here is one


There's additional ice cream such as teh tarik, salted caramel, salted gula melaka. I'm a big fan of sweet potato fries! Apparently they also do have live bands at night. such a chilly night to spend with your loved ones.
