Enjoy all the healthy food they offer! Especially the brown rice, thai green curry and monkey head mushroom. Glad that I got to know this place before they no longer opened for their meal services.

Fortunately, we still can learn more about Low GI food by attending their educational workshop.

Rating: 4/5

I’m always a little wary whenever I go to places which talk about how healthy their food is before discussing how tasty it is. Luckily, The Bento People didn’t disappoint at all on flavour! So if you’re looking for food that is as tasty as it’s healthy, this is a good place.

I got three dishes (bulgogi + tofu, black fungus and red rice) for $9.80 and tea for $1.50, but do note that there’s a very high chance you’ll spend more than that. This is as more than half the menu and dishes cost like another $1 or $2 to add, so expect costs to go up.

Money aside, the food is really pretty decent. The black fungus in miso was wonderfully savoury, and the red rice had a nice, nutty texture. The portion sizes are decent, too, leaving you feeling quite happily satisfied. They can get a bit crowded at lunch, but service is usually quick, so no need to worry there.

👨‍⚕️Passionate healthy bento "where food is medicine" @thebentopeople 🍱
*****
Been reading the story of a doctor who operate this store out of passion for healthy eating and set out to visit his eatery some time ago. With a bit of hiccups in journey (we were in Boon Keng MRT & so close to Bandemeer MRT but couldn't take MRT so we set our journey by foot). Talking about passion in eating...😆
.
Here is how it works 👉
Choose 3 items - from $9.80
Choose 4 items - from $11.80
We got our 2 sets on:
Bento 1: Chicken breast with Greek yoghurt, broccoli +$1, black fungus Tom yum, quinoa Tri Color +$1 $13.80
Bento 2: mushroom - Udon soup +$1, daikon Tom Yum +$2, Brown rice $12.80
.
Turns out that every item is delicious especially daikon Tom yum and plenty of mushrooms in the Udon broth that we feel very full afterwards. 🤗
.
Dishes are categorised as [V]for vegan, [P] for protein rich & [F] for Fiber rich. Suitable for both meat lovers & vegan. That's what we love when food brings people together! Let's support this rare healthy eatery!! 🙌
.
P.S. the restaurant is 2 mins walk from Bandemeer MRT station (exit B)

Located on the second floor of CT Hub, you can customize your orders here based on vegan, meat, carbs/whole grain for $9.80. Everything I ordered was really tasty - shout out to the mushroom in Japanese udon soup base - very comforting!

Bulgogi Beef with Tofu + Brown Rice + Romaine Lettuce

Another one of my secret spots that I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS dine at, as it's located super near to my dance studio. Selling healthy bentos, The Bento People has a range of ingredients and soup bases for you! The best thing about it is that it's completely DIY so you can choose whatever you want to eat in their menu!! You may have to add $1-$3 for certain ingredients but they do label it in their DIY menu so do look before you order ☺️ Also, there's free water for you so do just let the counter person know.

I highly recommend the Chicken & Tofu in Thai Green Curry as well as the Bulgogi Beef with Tofu. Super yummy and healthy, this place is a definite must try!

Previously, I only ever had the food from The Bento People delivered. On my first visit to their dine-in venue in Kallang, I found the space stylish and modern, with presentation of the meals equally pleasing to the eye.
The 3-item set ($9.80) was what I decided on while my lunch partner had the 4-item set ($11.80).
Everything about my combo of chicken marsala, brown rice and Japanese cucumber with tzatziki exuded a clean and healthy vibe, so I was surprised (in a good way) by the spiciness of the marsala gravy. The boneless pieces of chicken breast were also really tender.
When I am feeling guilty from over-indulging but still crave flavour in my food, this is a place that I reckon would fit the bill.
