Mentaiko Fries ($14)
Missing this fantastic mentaiko fries @thebrewingground . Think battered fries like the one from long john silvers only better and crispier drizzled with an extravagant amount of mentaiko sauce served in an extra large basket. Definitely suitable for sharinamongst 2-3 pax at least. It does get a tad salty so be sure to share the sauce with the fries hidden beneath!

There’s no shortage of great cafes in the east, luckily having options is a good thing and @thebrewingground’s seems to have what it takes to contend with the competition! Tasty food combined with great ambiance seems to be the pull here, definitely worth a visit at least.

The Breakfast Burger hits all the right spots if you’re a Sausage McMuffin fan. Perfectly cooked scrambled eggs with the sausage patty, caramelised onions and ketchup mayo had a great texture and flavour, though my friend found it a little too salty.

Ordered only the Mentaiko Fries ($14) as it’s really one of the better fries out there as these battered fries remained crispy after awhile and the generous squeeze of mentaiko sauce and topping of furikake gives it an umami boost.

You’ll get, the full works.
Eggs any style, chunks of maple bacon, one massive chicken cheese sausage, sautéed spinach & shimeijis, crisp hashbrown and sourdough toast.
Newly opened within The Yards at Joo Chiat, this hidden gem is definitely pleasing their neighbours with a decent selection of an all day brunch menu.

@thebrewingground, another spot for brunch if you are in the East. There’s the indoor with the hanging plants and long table (but gets quite noisy), or pet-friendly outdoor lawn.

For a flavoursome option, go for the Crab & Signature Scrambled Egg on Toast. Sautéed crab meat, glistening Ikura with fluffy scrambled egg sits atop the house-made sourdough, served alongside mesclun salad and roasted cherry tomatoes.

Yet another fine addition to the burgeoning cafe scene in East Coast, @thebrewingground is situated in the far corner of The Yards, a sprawling compound in a quiet residential street housing a pottery workshop, gym and dance studios amongst other things. It's a little out of the way but well worth the trip.

Chilled out vibes in both the bright and airy interior and the outdoors seating area, though you'd probably want to sit inside in air-conditioned comfort because it can get pretty hot during the day.

What's also HOT af is their signature scrambled eggs, done in the viral tornado omelette style and swirled to a dreamy creaminess. Heft comes in the form of a mountain of sauteed crab meat and ikura, which add a smoky sweetness and saltiness respectively to what could have been a texturally pleasing but plain affair.
