They had opened a stall selling Taiwanese cuisine at S11 coffeeshop at Ang Mo Kio Blk 711.

Minced pork braised with japanese miso paste that gives it an umami flavour. Overall this dish was pretty decent, just that I wish the ratio between meat to rice is more!

Lu rou fan - the miso lent a saltiness to the braised meat and rice. The meat, which was spiked with 5-spice powder, was fragrant and tasted great with short-grain pearl rice.

We tried their braised pork rice fused with Japanese red miso - soft & aromatic diced braised pork with a balanced ratio of fats and lean meat, flavourful without being too heavy and salty. The soft shell crab is certainly a must-try, a perfect dip from the fryer as it retained its natural crunch leaving the meat tender and moist. Overall, this is definitely a reliable option for comfort food. Bonus points as it’s also budget-friendly!

Decent lu rou fan set that came with flavourful braised pork on pearl rice, and a #yummy side of 13 spices crisp-fried silken tofu. Would love to have more of the braised meat. #happybelly #burpple

Another spot for legit lu rou fan in Singapore. They also use pearl rice. The other highlight was the tofu, which felt restaurant-level.

I've thoroughly enjoyed the juicy chicken thigh that's redolent of strong lemongrass. Pour over the green chilli marmalade - it gives a good spicy kick. Unfortunately, the braised egg was tasteless and the bowl of rice I've gotten was really, really hard and dry.

I've tried my friend's Miso Lu Rou Fan ($4.50) and I found it yummy! The rice grains were so much better (than mine), and the dish wasn't overly oily. More savoury than sweet when compared to the Taiwan-style lu rou fan, alongside a variety of vegetables, I can see this becoming a favourite for many.
