The truffle portobello mushroom pizza ($25.60+) remains my favourite of the options available. The crust is thin but has a good bite, and the truffle aroma is sufficiently evident. Would have appreciated more toppings!

Decent but not fantastic and nothing in particular stood out for The Academics Breakfast. Would be too ex if not for Burpple 1 for 1 ($26++). Nice ambience but service needs some polishing.

Peanut butter and jelly might be more commonly found with bread, but I would surely not mind if it came in the form of a cake.

As with this Peanut Butter & Jam Cake (S$9.00) the spreads were layered between alternating butter and chocolate sponges. Although the jam was incredibly sweet, the peanut butter maintained some balance of flavours with that subtle savoury finish.

The funny part about this cake was that halfway through the enjoyment, it suddenly dawned on me that the cake tasted like a Hiro Chocolate Cake (go Google it if you had never come across this snack before). It might not be a flattering association, but that moment of nostalgia was quite an amazing experience.

Definitely try their truffle mushroom pasta. The thin crust was so crisp, and the cheese melted perfectly. It oozes with truffle oil which drips down your fingers as you eat it :D their pasta was delicious but average, it wasn’t mind blowing but it definitely is a safe choice. The queue was tolerable even on a Saturday afternoon, and the service is great. Come here for your thin crust pizza fix :D
