Sharing with you my favourite at @thecommunalplace! 😍 While most of their mains were well-executed, that one dish that really stood out for me was their Pulled Pork Burger ($16++). πŸ”
The buttery brioche buns carried a little crusty exterior from toasting while remaining soft & fluffy inside, which was a winner for me! πŸ’―
While not the most succulent, the pulled pork was extremely well-marinated & flavoured 🐷, complementing the buns really well! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ The creamy coleslaw rendered a luscious mouthfeel!
The generous amount of accompanying fries 🍟 were really good too - chunky & well-salted! ✌🏻 The side salad with balsamic vinegar dressing have a tangy refreshing touch πŸ‘πŸ»
Absolutely enjoyed this dish a lot! πŸ’•

Surprisingly kids friendly for a place that has a great bar to compliment the food. Thumbs up for the attentive and smiley staff and the dishes were delicious and flavourful :) Hubby and I shared a pull pork spicy linguine and a miso salmon. Will definitely come back again!

TiraMISU is a classic Italian dessert that I always enjoy! ❀ Hence, ordering this dessert ($13++) at @thecommunalplace was totally an expected move from me. βœ”
I must say that this is one aesthetically-pleasing dessert! 😍😍😍 With tiramisu served in a cup, accompanied by honeycomb, mixed berries, walnuts & oreo cookie crumbles, I was so drawn to it! πŸ’―
While the mascarpone cheese was creamy & light (almost foamy), there was too little ladyfingers in my opinion. 🀨 The taste of coffee & kahlua was hence overpowered by the almost foamy mascarpone.
Thankfully, the mixed berries & walnuts were the saving grace as they added more textures & flavours πŸ’•, making this a decent plate of dessert. πŸ‘ŒπŸ» But if you want a good tiramisu, this will probably not satisfy you. 😐
Perhaps I have too high expectations on my Tiramisus! πŸ˜‚

Had a feast at @thecommunalplace last weekend with some lovely ladies! ❀ Absolutely love the ambience here as it took on a floral theme in collaboration with @windflowerflorist! 🌺🌼🌿 Super mesmerised by the floral dΓ©cor & vintage feels! That aside, food is always best shared so we tried their Yuzu Chicken ($18++) under the Communal Plate. πŸ˜‹
Featuring a whole buttery chicken πŸ“ that is perfectly roasted to the golden brown, slathered with yuzu glaze that glistens under the light 🌟, this was certainly quite a meaty dish good for sharing! Served with baby potatoes πŸ₯” & refreshing glazed vegetables πŸ₯—, this would make a wholesome meal for someone who wants to cut down on carbs but still fill your tummy! πŸ˜‰
More food reviews coming up so stay tuned! πŸ‘ŒπŸ» Thank you @thecommunalplace for having us! 😘

Shown in this picture was the aftermath of dropping the Chocolate Dome (S$18.00) from a height. It was the playful and theatrical part of the meal, whereby I had two options when this first came in a dessert cup: drop it from a height (plastic gloves provided) or to break it with a spoon.

Putting the gloves on, I then held the chocolate bowl in my hands, lifted about 30cm from the plate, and released it to watch it fall and shatter, only to discover some little surprises hidden by the scoop of Earl Grey ice cream, such as honeycomb, cheesecake and mixed berries. Don’t forget to top it up with some caramel sauce and condensed milk for added sweetness!

One could never get tired of seeing Pulled-pork Burger (S$16.00) from cafΓ© menus especially if they were done well, and I thought that the one at The Communal Place was executed quite nicely.

Flavoursome pulled pork was actually complemented with that beautiful brioche bun and some coleslaw added crunch with a little creamy texture. Kind of like a perfect instance which one could have excuse not to share the burger with your dinner date.
