Chill cafe to hang out and have a conversation with friends paired with great food

Good food, great laid back ambience tucked in Joo Chiat road. Greeted with free welcome drinks which freshened us up, tasted like lemon/yuzu spritzer. Perfect for groups/family. Our kids enjoyed themselves as there were UNO/some other card games provided

Another chef recommended dish well done. The Bouillabaisse foam was perfect pairing with the pan seared salmon

Chef recommended dish, didn’t disappoint. Al dente linguine with rich seafood creamy broth topped with fresh prawns (we changed the mussels to squids)

The Communal Place offers great sharing plates, I really enjoyed the Spanish Barramundi, doneness was on point, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside... The citrus goodness from the tomatoes, onion and lemon brings together a contrast between the fish and the vegetables... Good to share among 4-6 pax... what's more is, this venue is also in the burpple beyond listing... Now you can enjoy this together with your family and friends at a 1-1 price ;)

Thanks to Burpple for the invite to this Burpple Eatup...

What a fun dessert! Had to drop this ball from a height onto the bowl to crack open this “piñata” dessert. While the richness of the blue colour of the icecream startled me initially, the ice cream was not as artificial tasting as I expected. It was reminiscent of earl grey and was surprisingly delicious! (Note: later found out that it was lavender custard! And realised that it does remind me of lavender... but perhaps more earl grey still) And it goes really well with the chocolate bites, and a little honeycomb. (Just a little will do — these honeycombs are really screaming diabetes!)

Definitely a good treat for some birthday celebrations or any sort of celebrations!!! They even offer you gloves to break open this piñata - how thoughtful.
