1. Carrot cake
2. Luna

Both cakes were HUUUUGE.

I'd say I prefer the carrot cake more than Luna, though both were pretty sweet but the texture and taste of the carrot cake was better overall.

Luna was good too but it was crumbly and too sweet after awhile and became "jelat" - good for the sweet tooths out there!

The pasta was covered in a creamy bechamel sauce that was cheesy yet not overpowering. The sauce itself was on the lighter side, making it the perfect base for the intensely-flavoured chilli crab which was equal parts sweet and spicy. The dish was also topped with sourdough breadcrumbs for an additional textural crunch. Overall, an interesting and satisfying take on the usual mac & cheese.

I read that this was voted the best carrot cake in Singapore and after trying it myself, I could see why. This was such a moist slice of cake and was generously spiced. The cake itself was not too sweet, and it went really well with the rich and tangy cream cheese frosting. The fragrant shredded coconut on top was a nice addition, providing more sweetness and adding another contrasting texture to the cake.

Definitely a fitting name for this dish. Featuring double fried french toast covered in cinnamon sugar, I could feel a layer of sugar coating my lips with each bite. Luckily, plain yogurt and fresh berries (you can also opt for bananas!) on the side helped to cut through some of the sweetness so it doesn’t feel like you’re eating a jar of sugar. The outside of the french toast had a nice crunch, while remaining soft and fluffy on the inside. Despite being double-fried, it was neither greasy nor cloying.

Was it extremely sinful? Yes. Was it worth the sharp increase in my blood sugar afterwards? Also yes.

I nearly screamed out of joy when I stumbled upon the Fabulous Baker Boy while walking along Haji Lane. It's undeniable that they are making a bigger comeback than ever with a expanded food menu.

The star of the store however still goes to the lovely cake range of which it's the diva series season. I ordered Celine Dion which packs a rich punch of raspberry cream in between the moist cake sponge. I liked how the cream contains hints of raspberry without being too overwhelming.

At this rate, my goal would be to try out all the cakes from this establishment!

And FBB IS BACK! The newer outlet is bigger than before though something need to be done about the soundproofing. Their cakes are still as impressive! Check out that memorable cake display filled with Signatures, Diva or Divo series.

Here’s their rendition of Ondeh Ondeh. A light pandan & cream sponge, each layered with naked cream cheese and Gula Melaka sugar crumbs. Coated in a coconut cream and Gula Melaka meringue buttercream.
