I admitted I had expectations after reading the good reviews.

Overall it’s a good dining experience. But there’s somethings which I can’t quite understand about the dish:

Why is the burger bun hard and dry. Soaked with greasy butter. The whole burger is just dry.

The texture of mash potato was fantastic. But why the sour tanginess in it.

The potato was really too dry to be swallowed.

Sausage and steak was good. My steak was not evenly seasoned though

The crazy-value-for-money Gyudon ($14) with an add-on of Foie Gras ($11) is an excellent choice if you plan on ordering from their newly-launched Takeaway Menu.
I found the 100gms FeatherBlade cut of beef to be tasty from a sukiyaki marinate. It was arranged neatly with an onsen egg, crispy garlic chips, furikake and pickles on a base of Japanese rice that’d been seasoned with kombu and dashi for flavour.

@shnjtlng, owner of @thefeatherblade was a busy man today as he rushed around Singapore to make deliveries from their new Takeaway / Delivery menu.
I was one of the blessed recipients and oh my, was that young bossman generous to a fault.
The feast he gave was made up of everything on #thefeatherblade’s concise menu, a few were multiples even. Having tried them all, these would be the items I recommend:

1. The crazy #valueformoney Gyudon ($14) with an add-on of Foie Gras ($11) - I found the 100gms FeatherBlade cut of beef to be tasty from the sukiyaki marinate. It was arranged with an #onsenegg, crispy garlic chips, furikake and pickles on a base of Japanese rice that’d been seasoned with kombu and dashi for extra flavour.

2. The Signature FeatherBlade Steak - Priced at $25 for 200gms, it was a steal. Not sure how the team managed to get this less common cut of beef so tender but I say good on them. A smooth garlic mash and a mild peppercorn sauce were the accompaniments.

3. Sides ($7 each) - All four got my thumbs-up. The Crispy Potatoes, they came smashed, deepfried and squiggled in sriracha mayo, were annoyingly addictive. A little healthier was the sautéed mix of Shimeiji, Shiitake and Button Mushrooms but this was cancelled once I dug into the Creamed Spinach cooked in Parmigiano-Reggiano and cream with a pinch of nutmeg. As for the Caesar Salad, it was the crispy nacho chip egg with its runny yolk that was the clincher.

If you have many people in the same household, do explore the Bundle Meals tailored for 4 to 5, or 6 to 7 pax.

In support of local businesses during the Circuit Breaker period, we placed an order at 1pm for delivery at 8-9pm. The order was paid for in full in advance and the order was accepted and confirmed by the restaurant.

Disappointingly, at 8.25pm, we received a call saying that all the steaks had run out and the restaurant would not be able to fulfil this portion of the order. It was already late in the evening and midway through the allocated delivery time when we received the call saying that a large portion of our already confirmed order would not be fulfilled, leaving my family hungry with no reasonable explanation other than "the steaks had run out because of overwhelming orders".

This is completely unacceptable - For the restaurant to confirm our order, accept our payment, and then subsequently fail to fulfil the order at such a late hour. We wanted to order delivery to support our local businesses at this time, but were instead left disappointed, upset and hungry.

Customer service too was quite appalling, with little apology offered and no attempt at service recovery.

Let this serve as a warning to any potential patrons of this establishment. This has been a very frustrating experience for me and my family, and I urge everyone to think twice before ordering from them.

Finally had time to head down to The Feather Blade to try their steak and their 1-1 Gyudons(: service was great! Waiters were polite and proactive 👍 steak was great! The sous vide beef in the gyudon was tender. All in all I’m definitely gonna head down again

The steak ($21) was tender and we both felt that it was well worth it’s price! Definitely one of the most value-for-money steak options around. The steak was coated with a buttery sauce and smoked salt which gave the meat a special flavour. We also ordered a gyu don ($14) and added on a generous slab of foie gras ($11) which we enjoyed as well. Great service & nice ambience. We would recommend this to those who are looking for steak that’s affordable yet doesn’t compromise on the quality.
