Saw Fiona's review and knew what to order instantly! In theory, it's considerably easy to make (especially since this is crustless): braise oxtails till fork tender, pull and then top with mashed potatoes. But to make it exceptionally good? You know they went the extra mile. The red wine braised ragout was flavour-packed, while the velvety garlic mashed potato was neither dry nor too greasy. Super comforting!

Pro tip: Swing by during lunch and opt for the lunch set (this is one of the options for main). For the same price ($25), you get a main + an appetiser + a scoop of ice cream.

Unassuming but satisfying mix of fennel, radish, shallots, cherry tomato and cucumber. The well-emulsified lemon vinaigrette deserves a shout-out!

One of the five featured Alley on 25 dining concepts at the Andaz Singapore Hotel by Hyatt, The Green Oven serves hearty dishes, all cooked using their giant, statement green Beech oven (hence the name). The food here is great for sharing — think Braised Lamb Shank ($35) and Mac & Cheese ($35) with lobster and morel mushrooms — so file this aside for the next family lunch, or upcoming festive group gatherings. The gorgeous views of the city skyline add a touch of opulence. Topped with buttery garlic mash and sporting a golden brown hue from its time in the oven, the Oxtail Pie ($25) is super comforting. Burpple Tastemaker Fiona Ting appreciated that the dish was served piping hot — great if you like to take your time savouring your meal. The dinner-only Sustainable Seafood Stew ($68) may be pricey, but it is the one dish Fiona declares she'd gladly return for. The stew is filled together with seafood of all sorts, including jumbo lump crab, Boston lobster, black mussels, seabass, scallops and squid. The tomato bouillabaisse seafood broth is absolutely rich in flavour, and great for soaking up with the sourdough they serve with the dish. Pro tip: Their $25 set lunch, which gets you a main, an appetiser and a scoop of ice cream, is great value. The dinner menu, however, is more extensive.

Enhanced with the flavors of rosemary and fennel, it’s one of those dishes that elicits a sigh of satisfaction from the first bite.

Costing $35, it was served with a side of tzatziki, the yoghurt based sauce being unexpectedly baller. It balanced the gamey flavor of the lamb very nicely while the Jersusalem artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes added body and depth.

And I mean of all sorts.
Jumbo lump crab, Boston Lobster, Black Mussels, Sea Bass, Fat Scallops and Squiggly Squid in an alluring tomato bouillabaisse seafood broth, enhanced with the natural sweetness from the stock made of shellfish. I was grateful that they provided some sourdough so that we could soak up all that goodness like how we eat curry with baguette here in Singapore. Oh! And a dollop of creamy Saffron Aioli to bring everything together.
Priciest item on their ala carte menu, but it’ll probably be that one dish you’ll wanna come back for.

Finished in the oven to develop that golden brown hue on the garlic butter, it explains why piping hot smoke comes billowing out every time we dig in for another spoonful. You know how diligently slow I take my meals, yet this was kept hot right down to the last morsel.
