I can’t stress how amazing this deal from @thegyubar.sg’s Takeaway Menu is. Specially priced for a limited time, the Sukiyaki OR Shabu Shabu Set Meal for 2 pax are going for a serious song.

If you choose the Japanese Miyazaki Wagyu, it’s $158 (usual price: $198) and includes 6 huge slices of the Miyazaki Sirloin, Dashi and Sukiyaki sauce to cook in (these are sealed in bags), a massive serving of mixed vegetables (there’s Japanese leeks, corn, carrots and more), shiitake and enoki mushrooms, tofu, two Japanese eggs (you’re suppose to break them before dipping in the beef but I was too excited and missed that step 😅), konjac noodles and two bowls of Hokkaido rice.

If you choose Hokkaido Pork instead of #MiyazakiWagyu beef, it’s $88 for the Set for 2 pax (usual price: $128).

I can vouch this indulgence is worth every cent as the quality of the ingredients is excellent.
At the moment, orders are taken via calling #thegyubarsg directly at:
9150 3164.

They do have many other food and drink items (sake and wines) on their Takeaway Menu which you can check out as well. In addition, you will also receive a 10% rebate voucher.

As promised, this is a photo of what was delivered as part of the Sukiyaki. To make it as close as dining in the restaurant, every condiments of Sukiyaki were delivered.

And in many ways, it was better than dining in at the restaurant. Because it's at the comfort of home, we set up the sukiyaki together just like what we do during CNY reunion steamboat, we could adjust the saltiness exactly to what we prefer, and we get to keep the remaining stock for a second round of sukiyaki next time.

My IG story is still live on my page, till around 6pm today.

Delivery is $8 with minimum order of $60, and free with orders above $150. Thanks again @thetravellingcow for the dinner 🙏🏻

It felt like CNY reunion all over again, as the Gyu Bar recreated the whole Sukiyaki experience at home. It's as close as it gets to dining in, as they delivered every little condiments that were supposed to come with the Sukiyaki, including the little things such as beef fats and garlic chips. If you opt for pork, it's only $88 for two pax (UP $136 for two pax).
🔸
It's more than just the the premium Japanese wagyu that came with it (see my IG story for my wagyu). It's also about the family bonding over piping hot sukiyaki, much needed during Circuit Breaker. Felt happy that my mum enjoyed it, as she was amazed by the quality of the wagyu, saying that it's tender, sweet, and fragrant.

Refer to my IG story for my Sukiyaki at Home tonight. Photo taken during dine in, I'll post a photo of the delivery set too! Thanks @thetravellingcow for the treat!

Back at Gyu Bar with their owner @thetravellingcow, and we had wagyu with yolk in a stone pot. That's lots of premium well-marbled A4 wagyu grilled over binchotan, served with rice that was cooked in the stone pot. It's like comfort food, but done the best way possible.

Although Gyu Bar is known for their yakiniku, they also serve shabu shabu and sukiyaki. Pictured is their sukiyaki served with Kumamoto Wagyu at $196++ for two pax. Alternatively, their Miyazaki Pork Shoulder shabu shabu set is $68 per pax. Additional wagyu is priced at only $75, or additional Miyazaki Pork Shoulder at $45.
🔸
But you must save for the truffle egg porridge ($38 for two pax) at the end of the meal. They add rice, egg, truffles, and other condiments into the remaining sukiyaki broth for their comforting porridge.
🔸
You know I love the wagyu at Gyu Bar, as they serve quality cuts at prices that aren't too expensive. Thanks @gyubarsg boss @thetravellingcow for the treat!

😍
I loved everything in the Matsu omakase ($138++) we had! There’s the uni and wagyu tartare in a cone ❤️, refreshing salad with yuzu that is thankfully not over drenched in sauce, goma tofu, roasted wagyu, chamame (like edamame) in a monaka shell, chawanmushi topped with lots of unagi, different wagyu yakiniku grilled to your preference (medium rare of course), fragrant garlic fried rice, the best soup (because it’s not miso and the beef inside is sweet and tender) and even the dessert. Though I’m not usually a fan of panna cotta, it goes well with the fruits and looks festive🎄😁
Would love to return for the premium Ume set at $198++, but the affordable lunch only omakase at $68/98++ are very tempting too 🤔
The chef and staff are all very nice, and I love the cow figurine used to educate us on the different parts we are eating 😆
