A ‘hidden bar’ discreetly located at the basement of Forum Shopping Mall, the only way in is through the brightly lit Uma Uma Ramen which would then lead you to an eerily dark stairway. The bar was dimly lit, cosy and pleasantly quiet on a Friday night (not that I’m complaining!). Apart from drinks, my dining partner and I ordered what was quite possibly the best dish under the snacks menu - Wagyu Beef Cubes. It was ridiculously tender and I never knew beef and wasabi could ever go so well. I can only say The Horse’s Mouth really lives up to its name, as all insiders will definitely give high praises for it.

Mix it and you can taste how flavorsome and well the ingredients come together 😻

The Horse's Mouth is really a hidden hole situated below Uma Uma Ramen and beside fine dining restaurant Kaiseki Yoshiyuki. Serving a list of cocktails and Japanese fare, I almost wish it is my secret hideaway from the city life outside. 🔅

The smooth, gently numbing sauce wraps its coquettishly spicy feather boa around the contours of the cool, clean minced tuna - and indeed, the contours of your inner lips - with professional pleasure strictly on its agenda. 4/5

Paired with a crunchy Eihire (dried stingray fin) or Kawa Ebi (fried Japanese freshwater shrimp), the proficiently degenerate drinks go down like a really pleasurable pill.

As you lift the glass to your mouth, the comfortingly warm and rich kaya foam hovers hesitantly on your lips before a deluge of boomingly fragrant, holey singlet-esque cold coffee cuts right through.
This cocktail is a Chinese New Year special.
