Our favourite dish! The broth was flavourful and punchy even though no meat was involved (!) Pretty impressive! We appreciated the ingredients - fried tofu skins, mushrooms, and herbs, although admittedly nothing quite compares to meat 😂.

Light but umami laden soup served with silky flat rice noodles and topped with shredded marinated “no chicken “ seitan, frizzled grilled oyster mushrooms, sprouts, fresh herbs, and lime. Our one feedback is that the lighter broth tasted a little salty and could use slightly more depth.

Super refreshing and brimming with strips of seasoned soy-based seitan and tofu, fresh pickles, and an exciting mix of herbs. Clean and healthy; would recommend as an appetiser!

This we were less a fan of, as the broth left a slight oily mouthfeel. There were light hints of tomatoes in the broth hence a bit tangy and sweet, but definitely wished it was thicker and a little richer. Try the pho instead if you’re looking for something soupy! Good to note that some of their dishes come with alliums, so remember to request to exclude if necessary.

Back at Kind Bowl and we set out to try the last 2 mains that we’ve not had before.

BBQ Delight is their plant based bun cha! A very generous bowl - just look at the amount of ingredients on top with all the noodles hidden underneath 😂 They serve a good amount of sauce so that you can add and toss according to your liking. This was refreshing and appetizing! Especially enjoyed the crunchy fried spring rolls (just that they are a tiny bit oily) + grilled mushrooms & mock meats.

The Kind Bowl is a plant-based Vietnamese spot that’s just a short walk away from Somerset. Couldn’t really imagine how chicken pho can be made plant-based, but we were so impressed! The unassuming broth was clean tasting yet very flavourful, with a distinct fragrant mix of your usual pho herbs. If you’re thinking what about the meats? It’s replaced with a generous portion of king abalone mushroom slices and mock meats. Lots of textures here and was such a comforting bowl! It comes with alliums, but you can request for them to exclude it.
