Instead of the usual fish and chips, King Louis serves their Classic Fish with half-filled plate of lightly-salted roasted potatoes and coleslaw. The soft and moist dory fillet is coated with a thin layer of japanese tempura batter that is light and crispy. 😘

The Marinated Savoury Pork Loin plate was filled with slabs of chargrillled pork loins, roasted potatoes and lots of veggies in creamy salad dressing. *burps* 😄

Enjoy 1-for-1 promotion for selected mains, signature banquet platters and beverages from Monday to Thursdays (except PH and eve of PH). 😎 We only paid about $22 for these two mains!

I thought of The King Louis Grill & Bar just now because I was feeling carnivorous but not to the point of wanting a meat buffet, so I assumed I could try out this weekday special promotion (Monday - Thursday except eve of and actual Public Holiday). It comes with Soup of the Day, smoked BBQ pork ribs, breaded fish fillet, grilled chicken thigh, mussels with tomato sauce, assorted cooked and raw greens, sautéed potatoes and desserts. All for S$49.90.

The meat portion is acceptable for two, but I think the most filling part is actually the gi-normous portion of potatoes. If anybody want to finish the whole tray of food, they probably want to consider eating with another 2 persons instead of 1. Now I'm wondering if I paid for the meat or the potatoes......

Anyway, because the restaurant faces Sentosa Island, I presume this place also makes a good dining option for couples and large groups.

2 or 3 years ago I tried the pork ribs for their lunch set and it's baby pork ribs. They have those soft bone ribs and I love eating soft bones. Now I realized they are using normal pork ribs. It's soft but the sauce too sweet for my taste (I'm a salt person haha)
But the potato is good. Portion quite big so it's a struggle for solo diner like me.

Roasted beef with black pepper sauce, boneless chicken leg with onion sauce, cajun spiced chicken skewers and grilled porkloin with mushroom sauce. I was already overwhelmed just by reading the list of meat served on this big tin tray. For a balanced meal, tons of potatoes and a bowl of salad were placed on the tray. Not to forget the pineapple, orange and green apple for desserts. What a medieval and regal indulgence!

It was quite an eye opening experience rather than enjoying quality food. I mean, just look at this. The food was served in 10 minutes despite the restaurant was almost half full. Most likely the food were cooked ahead of time and heated up before they were served, which explains the slightly tough and tad dry meat.

Nonetheless, if I am craving for something meaty to share with friends and family, I'd be back again. 😚

For meat lovers and folks with huge appetite...their weekday lunch set is definitely value for money.

The serving is generous with lots of potatoes for this cheesy chicken meal and if still not enough, can top up $3+ for a drink, soup and dessert. Melted cheese on chicken steak is generous and blends well with the chicken. The chicken is tender and overall delicious but the portion is just too much for a pax to finish. Furthermore, the potatoes are too salty and a little over grilled for me. The dessert (which is a scoop of ice cream) and drink (regular coke) are just average. The soup is creamy and comes with a crispy garlic bread before the main dish arrives.

Would want to try their other dishes, especially those steaks served on trays on other days. One thing though, free plain water is unavailable and one has to purchase a whole glass bottle of water instead.

I had to change the steak to chicken because my dad doesn't eat beef. I love the honey back ribs! Sweet sticky sauce on tender pork ribs, who wouldn't love it. I love the roasted potatoes underneath all the meat as well! You can choose which meat sauce is your favorite and dip it! The meats are all generally good, but I wouldn't say that for the seafood. The prawn was a little mushy but a good experience so far.
