If there's one thing that's been stuck on my mind for a good part of this CB period, it's the Houjicha Burnt Cheesecake ($8.50) from The Kins’. 🤤

Honestly, it's been months since I had this - I just never got around to posting it at that time. All I know is that this has etched itself in my mind. I've never been a fan of cheesecake really, but The Kins' burnt cheesecakes (both the original and this) converted me just like THAT.

Houjicha has a more roasted, earthy, faint coffee-like flavour to it, so imagine combining it with the tartness, the creaminess? On paper, it sounds amazing. In practice, it's mind-blowingly good. 🤯 They are located really far away from where I live, but it is definitely worth the travel.

Once CB is over, I'm going back for more, and no one’s gonna stop me! ✊🏽(8.3/10)

burnt cheesecake & tom yum pasta for delivery!! free delivery for min order of 35$. i initially ordered tom yum pasta only because i wanted the some burnt cheesecake and thought i would have a main as well but oh boy, i fell in love with their tom yum pasta. since then, i have ordered 3 times in 2 weeks because the tom yum pasta is really so good. that aside, having burnt cheese cake delivered right to your doorstep? what a time to be alive

Happy Labour Day everyone! One more month till the end of CB, hang in there! Thanks to @thekinscafe, I was quite lucky to snag slices of their signature burnt cheesecakes, which had been on my wishlist for the longest time ever, for a special birthday. It was only unfortunate that they melted quite terribly.

Generally their cakes are pretty enjoyable except some parts that were slightly more dense. The original flavour was monotonous for me and could get a little jelak, but that’s because it was legit rich creaminess that I believe cream cheese lovers would scream about. However, I preferred the Houjicha. Not only because The Kins’ is the only place that serves a houjicha burnt cheesecake, but it’s also balanced in the overall flavour, as the roasted tea aroma comes through with a nutty finish. Mellower than matcha. The burnt layer was a little tough though.

Check out their Facebook page for updates and whatsapp them for preordering.

Wow, I like cheesecakes and burnt cheesecakes took it to a whole new level, it tastes so rich and milky! Chill place with pleasant food here. Really friendly staff, recommended me to try their original burnt cheesecakes first before trying houjicha. There are so many other items from menu that I want to try but I only got one stomach 🌚 I will be back

Craving for cheesecake? Why not have a burnt cheesecake or properly known as Basque cheesecake?

Burnt cheesecake has become a very popular dessert in Singapore. Although it’s not the prettiest looking dessert around, it definitely will satisfy one’s tastebuds.

Check out The Kins’ at Pasir Panjang. A chill, relaxed cafe that does a great version of it. The burnt cheesecake is soft, light and creamy and makes it easy for one to have it without sharing with anyone. The burnt top combined with the oozy, molten centre of cream cheese made it a heavenly delight. I could have two of that if I didn’t need to watch my calorie and fat intake.

Crispy fries, generous portion of fish fillet.
Dijon mustard mayo dressing.
Interesting texture.
Not bad.
