Enjoyable!

My preferred choice of a perfect Sunday afternoon. High tea at landing point. Semi casual affair with a wide view of the marina. The three pillars of MBS watching over us.
Served with TWG teas and coffee. It’s an enjoyable noon.

The food was okay but the atmosphere was nice! Too bad I was sick that day :( at first we didn’t reserve seats so we got allocated to the seats outside which were rather hot but had a very nice view of the Singapore river. We shifted to a coffee table indoors after a while. I think it’ll be really nice if you get the nice sofa seats. Food-wise, everything was quite ok and I liked the lobster bisque and smoked salmon sandwich the most. The savouring food was generally nicer than the sweet ones (which were a little too sweet). I had lemon bush and jasmine queen teas which were both refreshing and throat-clearing.

Decided to bring the dowager at home out for high tea and was so glad she enjoyed it! The view, coupled with a variety of snacks, with some being refillable, makes for the perfect high tea destination. I do think I have aged because I used to love all things sweet but I find myself swaying more towards the savoury dishes of late. I wish there wasn’t a time limit though, cause I was asked to clear the table for the second wave of customers. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable afternoon! Hope all of you are having a good weekend too! ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Truffle egg mayo sandwich, French cheese on hazelnut cracker, quiche and mini Parma ham bagel.

Oooh I adore their truffle egg mayo. The smell of the truffle was so strong I could smell it even when hubby was the one eating it. One of the few items that I asked for refill. I dunno what French cheese was supposed to taste like, this just tasted like normal cream cheese to me. But the cracker was really good. Quiche was ok. I don’t eat Parma ham.

This festive afternoon tea with mini buffet is only available till 21 Feb 2019. Most other afternoon teas go heavy on the sweets. This is the rare one that has a wide selection of savories, along with good quality desserts.

Canele, pistachio Madeleine, raspberry macaron, pistachio puff, fruit cake, choc eclair, lemon tart and salted caramel tart.

Canele had a bit of alcohol, and the base was crispy. Super delicious this one. Madeleine was a tad dry, couldn’t taste the pistachio. Macaron was nicely sourish, but still too sweet. Puff was not to my taste. I didn’t like it. I’m prejudiced against fruit cakes in general, but this one was quite buttery. Eclair was on the sweet side cos of the milk choc cream inside. Lemon tart was divine. So sour and creamy. I could eat a dozen of those if my stomach could expand into my lungs. I thot I would hate the salted caramel but it was dark choc cream with a few grains of salt on top. Really good.
