One word to describe this cake: m o i s t! The bakes looked so lovely sitting in the display we couldn’t help but choose one as dessert as an addition to our brunch and coffee. A very yummy butter cake, with a delightful topping of honeyed mascarpone and the crunch of pistachios to balance out the richness. Nothing beats catching up over coffee at a cafe on a calm weekday morning.

Bacon curried rice with raisins, runny egg, caramelised onions and sour cream. The mix of flavours in this one was really balanced. The sweet onions complemented the savoury rice and I am a fan sour cream so that definitely ticked some boxes. I loved this! Only gripe is that the egg wasn’t runny.

Ordered a couple of other things too:
Honey tater tots [$13.40] - just your usual tater tots with a tinge of sweetness
Meatballs and toast [$19.30] - same one they have at Columbus/atlas
Fennel pork and shrooms pasta [$22.90] - not too bad but a little dry for me

Tried the iced matcha latte here and it has a very smooth consistency and texture! No grainy matcha bits, and first sip hits you with the tangy matcha taste though it isn’t very overwhelming. The drink is a little on the sweeter side but I find that it complements the drink well. Plus points for aesthetics! Ombré tones and sprinkling of matcha powder on the top ✨ I think this might be my third favourite matcha latte!

Price: $7.50

Highlight was Big In Japan ($16.90) which comes with 3 Grana Panadol scones and 3 different sauces - yuzu jam, honey mascarpone and a cold shrimp & salmon in dill sauce.

The scones itself were lovely. They were fluffy yet substantial enough to serve as a great base for the sauces. My favourite was the cold shrimp & salmon dill sauce but honestly they were all great and I loved how when I got bored of one sauce, I could move on to another to refresh my palate. They were so generous with the sauces too, we couldn’t finish them 😂

If you’re looking for a nice place to chill at for Sunday brunch that offers more than your typical eggs ben, this is it.

Soup is rich and the grilled chicken is delicious

Toffeenut Latte was pretty good, their cold brew with sugar is the same as columbus coffee~ Cakes were alright, nothing impressive but pleasant vibes here!
