Besides their signature ala carte menu from The Nomads Nan to the Gatherer’s Butter that is available on food delivery platforms, you can also visit their online ordering system (link below) for two exclusive set menus, namely The Nomads At Home ($90) and The Feast ($198, pictured).

The Nomads’ team is absolutely killing it with The Feast, which is designed for a communal dining experience that feeds 4-5 pax and the menu comes with the 4 x The Nomads Nan, Gatherer’s Butter, half a Spiced Duck, 2 x Salat, 400g of seafood such as red Argentine prawns and Hokkaido scallops, 400g of ICON Wagyu and 400g of Basmati Plov. Much has been said about the Nan and Gatherer’s Butter (Seaweed), which you have to literally stop yourself from stuffing yourself silly in view of the other food on the table, as both the bread and butter combination is just so good. Even the Salat, a mix of grilled pears, charred seasonal greens and crystallized walnuts in a cherry vinaigrette and anchovy sauce will make you go “wow” for a vegetable dish. The trio of seafood, dry aged spiced duck and ICON wagyu just topped the dining experience even higher while the Basmati Plov, a fusion of risotto and biryani, will fill you up in no time.

If you love it or wish to give it a go, do you know that The Nomads is actually the place to go to? The Nomads serves contemporary Central Asian cuisine with an omakase dining format and diners will embark on a cultural journey across Central Asia with culinary influences from China, India and Southern Europe.

Over at the private dining area of the restaurant, this space can accommodate up to 8 guests, in which you will get a different experience as compared to sitting at the main dining room. Dishes are served communal style and you can have a closed-door, more intimate gathering within the space. To kickstart the meal and toast to good food and company, we were treated to The Nomads Nan ($18) and Flatbread to pair with the Gatherer’s-Hunter’s Butter and a plate of Burratina. Once we have filled our tummies with those excellent bread and spread, the Salat ($18) was served and it comes with grilled pears, seasonal greens and crystallized walnuts with a dressing of cherry vinaigrette and anchovy sauce.

The Central Asian journey continues with a seafood dish of Adjika Squid with Ash before the heavy hitters of Adjika Chicken Skewers, Dry Aged Spice Duck, Nomads’ Plov and the magnificent Margaret River Tomahawk arrived at the table. As with every excellent meal comes to an end, it is best to leave a memory with a sweet ending of Medovik ($14), a traditional dessert of honey cake served with a sour cream ganache, blood orange, rose crystals and yogurt sorbet to freshen the palate.

Unique experience and some of the items are really remarkable but overall service feels a little unpolished.

After 15 courses of food from the Odyssey of Fire menu, two desserts were served:
* Almaty - an exquisite display with smoked apple ribbons, dollops of Gorgonzola cheese, cinnamon yogurt, and a scoop of celery sorbet. One for the adventurer, this is a bold mix of strong flavours tamed by citrus zest.
* Medovik - Honey cake with blood orange, rose crystals on a bed of sour cream ganache, served with yoghurt sorbet.

This concludes my dinner here, which incorporated unique spin to traditional dishes, using familiar South-east Asian flavours. You may refer to my previous posts on 27 Jan, 11 Feb, 19 Feb, and 9 March for all other courses served in this menu.
